Casa Banana : preliminary findings of the medical and other needs

"The report hinges on the social and health aspects of the displaced peoples of Mozambique particularly Casabanana province. Casa Banana means ""House of Bananas"". The activities undertaken during the visit were to: 1. treat diseases (they had medicines worth Z$6 000); 2. Ensure the safe storage and safe use of drugs. 3. Assessment of the common diseases and medical needs in preparation for the medical kits to be supplied by Help-the-Aged (UK) for 10 000 people. 4. Assess the situation and recommend the continuation/dissemination of further projects. All these tasks were carried out over the period December 1987 to January 1988."
