ABSTRACT
Objetivo: realizar revisão de literatura a respeito dos principais aspectos referentes à Enterocolite Necrosante (ECN)em recém-nascidos admitidos em Unidade de Terapia Intensiva Neonatal (UTIN). Método: realizada revisão daliteratura científica com seleção das publicações mais relevantes sobre o tema utilizando-se as bases de dados SciELO,MedLine e PubMed, além de revistas científicas publicadas nos últimos 10 anos, em português e inglês. Conclusão:pautado por um melhor entendimento do processo fisiopatológico, do manejo clínico e cirúrgico, assim como dasmedidas de prevenção e fatores associados à ECN, importantes resultados serão alcançados em termos de redução damorbimortalidade consequente a tal patologia, em especial nos casos ocorridos em UTIN. Entretanto, sabe-se que amelhor prática clínica pauta-se na prevenção e diagnóstico precoce da patologia
Objective: to conduct a literature review about the main aspects related to Necrotizing Enterocolitis (NEC) innewborns admitted in Neonatal Intensive Care Units (NICU). Method: held scientific literature review with selectionof the most important publications on the subject using the SciELO databases, MedLine and PubMed, and scientificjournals published in the last 10 years in Portuguese and English. Conclusion: guided by a better understanding ofthe pathophysiological process, the clinical and surgical management, as well as preventive measures and factorsassociated with NEC, important results will be achieved in terms of reducing morbidity and mortality consequentto such pathology, especially in cases in NICU. However, it is known that the best clinical practice is guided in theprevention and early diagnosis of the disease.
