ABSTRACT

Focal xanthogranulomatous pyelonephritis is an atypical form of chronic renal infection, It is frequently misdiagnosed preoperatively because of its resemblance to malignancy. We report on a fifty years old woman who presented with a right kidney mass. The CT scan showed a solid aspect mass with a lithiasis of the upper ureter. The diagnosis of local xanthogranulomatous pyelonephritis was suspected by clinical and radiological findings and confirmed by histopathologic examination of percutaneous biopsy specimens of the lesion. Successful treatement of the patient was achieved with leaving on the lithiasis and antibiotic therapy dosing eight weeks. Three months later the CT scan was completely normal. The conservative treatment of focal xanthogranulomatous pyelonephritis makes possible to avoid a needless nephrectomy usually on young patients. However a close follow-up must be undergone on these patients because of the possible association of focal xanthogranulomatous pyelonephritis and renal cell carcinoma of the kidney

ABSTRACT

Extramedullary plasmocytoma is rare, with less than 50 reported cases and only 8 cases of primary testicular plasmocytoma. Report of a new case. This report concerns a 65 years old patient presenting an enlargement of the testis. The diagnosis of testicular plasmocytoma was made on histological examination. There was no evidence of bone marrow involvement or systemic signs of myeloma. This case will be studied with a review of the literature

ABSTRACT

The authors are reporting a series of 117 patients -who have suffered a ligation of internal spermatic vein. 56 patients are married and consult for primary sterility. 61 patients are unmarried. The results of the varicocele cure have been appreciated with a minimum set-back of six months. The fertility's rate reaches 40% in our series. Concerning the unmarried patients we note the disappearing of the varicocele in 54 cases with a correction of the seminal cytology perturbations in 82,5% of the cases and a normal examination in 10 cases. The authors analyses the different parameters leading to an amelioration of the seminal cytology and compare them with the litterature's ones
