ABSTRACT

A retrospective study of 47 cases of cirrhosis in Morrocan children is reported. This liver disease has low frequancy with a slight predominance in males. Three peaks of age are noticed: at one year, 3 years, and 12 years. Biliary cirrhosis is the most frequent etiology. No etiology is found ir approximately 50% of cases. There are no particularities in the analytic study of indetermined cirrhosis [22 cases/47]. Authors emphasize the necessity of a prospective large study of cirrhosis in childhood

The authors report two cases of dermatomyositis in childhood. They lay emphasis on symptomatic and evolutionary features rarely described, and point out the advantages of alternative streroid therapy with low doses, in short time, in comparison to classical therapeutic protocols
