Lemaire extra-articular procedure for. The average follow-up was 10.5 years [range 7 to 15]. All patients were evaluated with scoring systems [Avicenne military hospital [HMA] and IKDC]. Roentgenograms of both knees on unilateral weight-bearing and functional evaluation with the Stryker knee laxity tester. No statistical evaluation was used. 30 patients had a satisfactory result in both system HMA and IKDC. The pivot-shift test was negative in 95 percent. 22 patients resumed there first level 35%. Functional results were temporalily but do not confirm the reliability of this procedure. Degenerative changes of the joint underprim the prognosis. Lemaire's extra-articular procedure alone for chronic rupture of the A.C.L. is not recommended
