ABSTRACT

Increasing the receivables collection period make problems in the payment of personal salaries, medicine fees and facilities under surveillance centers. It finally has negative effects on delivered services. At present economic circumstances, paying attention to liquidity and its present value is very important to doing economic activities and to decreasing receivables collection period. The aim of the study was calculating the receivables collection and turnover period in selected hospital of the Qom University of Medical Sciences. This is a descriptive research that conducted in the selected hospital of Qom university of medical sciences during the fourth national development program [2005-2009]. Data was Collected from information based on the financial documents of the kamkar hospital and registered into information sheets and analyzed by excel software. Results show that during the fourth national development program, Receivables turnover has gradually decreased and unlike the receivables collection period increased. Both of these relations showed an undesirable circumstances and graving with the contracting insurance companies in the payment of their obligation with the hospital. Findings indicated that the receivables collection period of insurance companies takes Long and taken a long way from its normal .It needs a serious monitoring and intervention in the large scale decision making, except by using the power of law during the fourth development national program which it hasn't a good impact in repayment approach of the policy makers in this issue that expected all of the general managers in the giving of services

ABSTRACT

Hadjelia truncata is a nematode that causes lesions in the gizzard lining of pigeons, which may even lead to death. The aim of this study was to introduce Alphitobius diaperinus as a new intermediate host for Hadjelia truncata. H. truncata infection was identified in a pigeon flock in Ahvaz City, Khuzestan Province, Iran by performing fecal examination and autopsy. Adult and larval stages of beetles were collected from the litter of pigeon houses, and identified morphologically. The beetle larvae were cultured in a medium, containing feces of the infected pigeons. Nematode larval stages from naturally and experimentally [culturally] infected adult beetles were fed to two groups of pigeons. The collected beetles were identified as Alphitobius diaperinus. Average length and width of the adult beetles were 6.31 mm and 2.88 mm respectively. Infection rates of naturally and experimentally infected beetles with larval stages of the nematode were 66.2% and 45.1% respectively. The adult nematodes collected from gizzards of experimentally infected pigeons were identified as H. truncata. Nematode infection rates in pigeons after feeding the infective larvae collected from naturally and experimentally infected beetles were 44.7% and 32.5% respectively. A. diaperinus can serve as a natural intermediate host for H. truncata

ABSTRACT

Statement of problems: One of the first observation which should be considered in patients during the setting of anterior teeth is the relationship between the anterior teeth midline and the midline of the face. In situations, when the anterior teeth midline is not in favorite relation with the midline of the face, for the resean that the incisal plane of anterior teeth is not parallel with the interpupillary line, unpleasant teeth to face relationship will be present

Purpose: The purpose of this study was to determine a relationship between the midline of central incisors with some landmarks of the face and mouth to make use of them in full denture construction

Materials and Method: In this cross sectional descreptive study, 110 individuals including 85 males and 25 females with the mean age 21.5 years were selected. The inclusion creiteria were no extracted teeth, no orthodontic therapy and no esthetic surgery on the nose and face. After examining and completing the questionnaires, impressions were made of both arches using alginate impression material. After preparation of the casts, the relationship of both upper and lower teeth midline, upper central incisor midline to incisive papilla, the midline of filtrum, and labial frenum were examined and the results were recorded. Then the central and deviation parameters in population including average and variance in different percentages were compared

Results: In 62.7% of individuals, the maxillary teeth midline was adapted with the center of incisive papilla. In 37.3% of individuals, the maxillary teeth midline was coincided with the philtrum. In the same percent of individuals, the maxillary teeth midline was at the same line with the upper lip frenum. In 10.9% of individuals, the mandibular dental midline was adapted with the maxillary dental midline. In 3.36% of individuals, the maxillary and mandibular dental midlines and philtrum were adapted

Conclusion: The results of this study showed that it would not be possible in most cases to construct complete dentures in which all landmarks of the face and mouth be coincided with the midline of the anterior teeth

ABSTRACT

Male urogenital tract infection plays an important role in men infertility. Asymptomatic bacteriospermia has been paid attention as a major cause of male infertility. The aim of this study was to microbiological investigation of semen sample of infertile men attending to infertility clinic and evaluation of the effects of bacteriospermia on semen quality. Eighty eight infertile men were evaluated by standard bacterial culture method. Standard semen analysis was performed according to WHO guidelines. Among total cases, 35.22% [31 cases] showed at least one pathogen: 10.22% E.coli, 9.09% Coagulase Negative Staphylococci [Saprophyticcus], 6.81% Group B Streptococci, 5.88% Entrococci, 5.68% Candida sp., 2.27% Gonococci, 2.27% Staphylococcus aureus, 1.13% Klebsiella sp. and 1.13% Providencia sp. There was a significant relation between the bacteriospermia and the rate of no motile and morphologically abnormal sperms [P<0.0001]. The quality of sperm motility was significantly decreased in contaminated semen. The percentage of morphologically normal sperm was lower. E.coli and Entrococci were the most effective agents against sperm parameters. Asymptomatic bacteriospermia has a negative effect on sperm quality. E.coli and Entrococci are the most common bacteria with negative influence on sperm motility and morphology. Moreover, presence of bacteriospermia and leukocytospermia did not correlate with each other [P>0.05]. It seems that leukocytospermia is a poor marker to predict bacteriospermia
