ABSTRACT
An adult Saudi male with multiple circumferential ulcers in the ileum in the absence of any pathological or microbiological aetiological factors, is described. The patient presented with an acute abdomen and marked anaemia, and underwent resection of the affected portion of ileum. On histology, ulceration was limited to the mucosa and submucosa, with normal mucosa between ulcers

Over a period of 5 years, 158 Saudi patients underwent thyroid gland surgery at the Security Forces Hospital in Riyadh: 80% of the patients were females. Thyroid carcinoma occurred in 30% of the patients and 80% of those patients presented clinically with a solitary thyroid nodule. Fine needle aspiration cytology, when performed, was useful in determining the diagnosis but the false negative rate may be high. The morbidity and mortality rates of thyroid surgery in experienced hands are low
