ABSTRACT

Eleven patients with organic impotence associated with resistant Peyronie's plaques were scheduled for combined treatment of both condition at the same session. The plaques were incised together with insertion of semirigid penile prosthesis [AMS 600]. This technique resulted in correction of the penile deformity and a satisfactory sexual performance in all patients. Postoperative complications were not encountered except of mild local pain which persisted for few weeks postoperative. This procedure proved to be simple and effective, however should be performed on carefully selected patients

ABSTRACT

Fifty children with knowncauses of glomerular hematuria, and another 50 patients with non glomerular hematuria were investigated using coulter counter. In the present work coulter counter was accurate in 100% in glomerular lesions and in 98% in non glomerular lesions. We concluded that urine analysis by coulter is a reliable screening test performed to reduce the frequency of unnecessary, costly, invasive procedures that are carried in the investigation of hematuria in children

There were 27.6% females 18.8% of the patients had recurrent renal stones. The procedure was done under general anaethesia. Access to the kiedny was made under guidance of one plane fluoroscopy. The success rate of stone removal reached 98%. Complications were few, only 1.2%. The details of the procedure, results are discussed. The high success rate, together with lower cost places percutaneus nephrolithotripsy in a good position in the era of ESWL specially in developing countries

ABSTRACT

Forty patients with Ta-T1 transitional cell carcinoma of the bladder were r and omized to undergo TUR along or TUR combined with intravesical instillation of doxorubicin hydrochloride. Follow-up ranged from 11 to 36 months. There was a significant reduction in the recurrence rate and a significant increase in the disease free interval in the doxorubicin group. The treatment was well tolerated and the reactions to the drug were limited to chemical cystitis and transient hematuria
