ABSTRACT
RESUMEN Introducción: la aparición y diagnóstico de una enfermedad crónica en la edad pediátrica supone para el paciente un cambio, a veces radical, en su forma de vida, ya que en la mayoría de los casos no solo deben cumplir con un régimen farmacológico estricto, sino que necesitan de un control de la dieta e importantes transformaciones en el orden social; esto constituyen un problema que compromete a pacientes, familias, personal de asistencia médica e instituciones sociales. Objetivo: proporcionar información sobre el tema familia y adherencia terapéutica en las enfermedades hematológicas crónicas de la infancia a los profesionales médicos implicados en su manejo que les posibilite un mejor acercamiento a dicha problemática. Métodos: se realizó una revisión bibliográfica donde se consultaron las bases de datos a través del sitio web Pubmed, SciELO y el motor de búsqueda Google Académico, de artículos publicados en los últimos cinco años, se analizó la bibliografía revisada. Desarrollo: la explicación de la adherencia terapéutica es compleja y de origen multifactorial, donde la funcionabilidad de la familia representa el eslabón de enlace entre el tratamiento, su sistematicidad y mantenimiento; lo que constituye un factor protector en la edad pediátrica. Conclusiones: en la adherencia terapéutica, el papel de la familia es de vital importancia, ya que no solo se erige como red de apoyo fundamental con que cuenta el paciente pediátrico para su recuperación, sino también para el equipo de salud encargado del control y buen desenvolvimiento de su evolución.
ABSTRACT Introduction: the onset and diagnosis of a chronic disease in pediatric age implies for the patient a change, sometimes radical, in their way of life, since in most cases they must not only comply with a strict pharmacological regimen, but also need diet control and important transformations in the social order, constituting a problem of primary repercussion that involves patients, families, health care personnel and social institutions. Objective: to provide information on the subject of family and therapeutic adherence in chronic hematologic diseases in childhood to medical professionals involved in their management, in order to enable them to better approach this problem. Methods: a bibliographic review was carried out where the databases were consulted through Pubmed, SciELO and the Google Scholar search engine, of articles published in the last 5 years, and an analysis and summary of the reviewed bibliography was made. Development: The explanation of therapeutic adherence is complex and of multifactorial origin, where the functionality of the family represents the link between treatment, its systematicity and its maintenance, constituting a protective factor in the pediatric age. Conclusions: in therapeutic adherence, the role of the family is of vital importance, since it not only constitutes the fundamental support network available to the pediatric patient for his recovery, but also for the health team in charge of the control and good development of his evolution.
