ABSTRACT

The hydatic cyst is a frequent pathology in Tunisia. In most cases, it affects the liver and the lungs. The cervico-facial location doesn't exceed 1%. We report 9 cases of cervico-facial hydatic cysts over a period of 16 years in our department. The diagnosis is rarely set up preoperatively in spite of the elements of orientation given by ultrasound. Serology is rarely positive in such locations. The treatment is surgical [Cystectomy Pericystectomy - wide resection] in order to avoid spontaneous evolution which often brings out complications
