ABSTRACT
Equilibria between 3-hydroxycarbostyril and protons or bivalent metal ions have been investigated potentiometrically at different solvent composition [30-50% w/w, dioxane-water]. The values of n and pL were computed based on Irving and Rossotti approach. The formation constants increased as the organic solvent content of the medium increased. The order of stability constants was found to be: Cu> Ni> Co> Zn> Mn> Cd. The characterization of the copper, cobalt and nickel complexes separated in the solid state were suggested vased on elemental analysis [1:1 and 1:2 complexes are formed in case of Co[II] and Cu[II], while Ni[II] showed only 1:2 stoichiometry], electronic spectra in ethanol and Nujol mull and IR spectral measurements
ABSTRACT
The base-adducts of nickel [II] complexes of S-methyl hydrazine carbodithiote Schiff bases with 2,2-dipyridyl have been studied in dichloroethane solution spectrophotometrically. The results obtained suggest the formation of cis-octahedral monoadduct
