ABSTRACT

Se indagó acerca de la sexualidad y la procreación responsable en la adolescencia como perspectivas de análisis dentro de las ciencias médicas, desde un enfoque de género, y se expusieron algunas consideraciones sobre la etapa de la adolescencia y los estereotipos sexuales.


Sexuality and the responsible procreation in the adolescence were investigated as analysis perspectives within the medical sciences, from a gender approach, and some considerations on the stage of adolescence and the sexual stereotypes were exposed.

ABSTRACT

La sexología es la ciencia general, básica y fundamental del comportamiento sexual humano. Al respecto se realizó una intervención educativa en estudiantes de primer año de la Facultad de Enfermería Máximo Gómez Báez de Santiago de Cuba, durante el segundo semestre del curso escolar 2006 -2007, con vista a modificar los conocimientos de los educandos sobre educación sexual. De los 564 alumnos en total fueron escogidos 100 mediante un muestreo aleatorio simple, a quienes se aplicó un programa general de clases de 7 horas, concluidas las cuales se evaluaron los conocimientos anteriores y a la semana de finalizados los encuentros a través de una encuesta elaborada para esos fines. Los resultados revelaron que los participantes en el estudio poseían un conocimiento inadecuado sobre educación sexual; aspecto que fue revertido favorablemente luego de aportarles la información idónea sobre el tema.


Sexology is the general, basic and fundamental science of the human sexual behavior. In this respect an educational intervention in first year students of Maximo Gómez Báez Nursing Faculty from Santiago de Cuba was carried out during the second semester of the academic year 2006-2007, in order to modify the knowledge on sexual education in the students. From a total of 564 students 100 were chosen by means of a simple random sampling. They received a 7 hours general program of classes, which after concluded the previous knowledge were evaluated, and a week after the classes had been concluded a survey was conducted with these goals. The results revealed that participants in the study had an inadequate knowledge of sexual education, but this aspect changed favourably after giving them the appropriate information on the topic.
