Raízes do vitalismo francês: Bordeu e Barthez, entre Paris e Montpellier / The roots of French vitalism: Bordeu and Barthez, between Paris and Montpellier

Analisa as propostas classificadas como vitalistas, formuladas na França no século XVIII. Contextualiza a tradição da escola médica de Montpellier, abordando as concepções fisiológico-médicas de Théophile de Bordeu. Nesse ambiente Paul-Joseph Barthez realizou sua formação original. Sua concepção sobre a autonomia da vida também foi influenciada pela interação com círculos dos enciclopedistas de Paris. No entanto, na formulação desse conceito identificam-se igualmente ruptura e permanência com relação a ambas as linhas de pensamento - a respeito do conceito de ser humano na classificação das ciências prescrita pela Encyclopédie e na tradição típica de Montpellier.

This article analyzes several French eighteenth century physiological theories that later on were classified as vitalist. The overall background is set by the tradition of Montpellier medical school, in particular by the physiological and medical ideas of Théophile de Bordeu. Paul-Joseph Barthez was initially trained in this setting, however, his conception of the autonomy of life was also heavily influenced by the circle of Paris encyclopedists. For this reason, Barthez's elaboration shows elements of continuity and discontinuity regarding both the notion of human being as represented in the classification of sciences of the Encyclopédie, and the typical Montpellier.

Education in transdisciplinarity: the training of researchers / Educação em transdisciplinaridade: treinamento dos pesquisadores

The present paper discusses the notions of inter, multi and transdisciplinarity in the context of present day scientific practice, with a brief summary of the historical roots of the currents cenario. As a case-study, it is analyzed the situation of research on HDs, as an emergent multidisciplinary field aiming at transdisciplinarity. An illustration is presented, from the experience of the constitution of a multidisciplinary team related to basic research in HDs. The author highlights the specific skills and modalities of participation of both the intervening specialists and the "generalist" or manager of knowledge. Suggestions are offered on how to expand this model.

O presente artigo discute as noções de inter, multi e transdisciplinaridade dentro do contexto da prática científica atual, com uma breve resenha das raízes históricas da situação atual. Como estudo de caso, analisa-se a pequisa em altas diluições como campo multidisciplinar emergente em vias de transdisciplinaridade. É apresentado o exemplo da experiência da constituição de uma equipe multidisciplinar vinculada à pesquisa fundamental em altas diluições. A autora acentua as habilidades específicas e modalidades de participação dos especialistas e modalidades de participação dos especialistas participantes e o "generalista" ou administrador do saber. São oferecidas sugestões acerca de como expandir este modelo.
