ABSTRACT
Caracterizar la producción científica del claustro de profesores a tiempo completo de la Escuela Nacional de Salud Pública referenciada en la base de datos Scopus, 2006-2012. Métodos: se realizó una búsqueda en la base de datos Scopus. Los resultados se importaron a Endnote X3. Con una aplicación informática se convirtió la información en varios ficheros que se importaron a Excel de Microsoft Office 2010 y SPSS 19 para su análisis. Resultados: se recuperaron 420 artículos de revistas y memorias de congreso. En 373 de estos al menos un autor pertenecía al claustro como profesor a tiempo completo. Los artículos procedieron de 40 revistas, 15 cubanas y 25 internacionales. Las revistas cubanas donde más se publicó fueron Educación Médica Superior, Salud Pública y Medicina General Integral. El promedio de publicaciones por profesor fue 0,57. Solamente 16 de estos profesores tuvieron 10 publicaciones o más en Scopus y primó la participación como autor secundario con 341 (63,4 por ciento). Las 17 referencias más citadas fueron en revistas internacionales en inglés. El artículo nacional mejor ubicado (lugar 18) corresponde a la Revista Cubana de Salud Pública. Se observó dispersión temática en las palabras clave, incluso en un mismo autor. Conclusiones: la producción científica de los profesores a tiempo completo de la Escuela Nacional de Salud Pública en la base de datos Scopus se caracteriza fundamentalmente por responder a sus líneas de investigación priorizadas, por no estar distribuida uniformemente entre los miembros del claustro, por ser de autoría múltiple y por cierta dispersión temática...
To characterize the scientific production of the full-time faculty of the National School of Public Health included in the Scopus database, 2006-2012. Methods: a search was made in Scopus database and the results were transferred to Endnote X3. Using an informatics application, the information was converted into several files that were taken to Microsoft Excel 2010 and SPSS 19 for analysis. Results: four hundred and twenty journal articles and Congress memoirs were retrieved. Thirty hundred and seventy three of them had at least one author from the full-time faculty. The articles came from 40 journals (15 Cuban and 25 foreign). The mostly used Cuban journals for publication were Educación Médica Superior, Salud Pública and Medicina General Integral. The average of publications per professor was 0.57; just 16 of these professors had 10 or more publications recorded in Scopus database and the role of secondary author was predominant in 364 articles (63.4 per cent). The seventeen references that were most cited appeared in international English journals. The Cuban article holding the best position (18th place) was published in Revista Cubana de Salud Publica. There was thematic dispersion in the keywords even from the same author.
