ABSTRACT

El objetivo de esta revisión, fue describir de una manera sencilla las principales características de la Fibrina Rica en Plaquetas (FRP), su composición, propiedades y aplicación clínica. La FRP, biomaterial autógeno y concentrado plaquetario de segunda generación, es una matriz de fibrina que contiene leucocitos, plaquetas y factores de crecimiento, que son necesarios para los procesos de cicatrización, lo que brinda a este biomaterial, una gran utilidad en diversas áreas de la salud, incluyendo la odontología. Con esta revisión concluimos que la FRP es una alternativa real para mejorar la cicatrización de procedimientos quirúrgicos y potenciar otros biomateriales regenerativos en diversas áreas de la odontología, además de su accesibilidad y bajo costo.


The aim of this review was to describe in a simple way the main characteristics of platelet rich Fibrin (PRF), its composition, properties and clinical application. PRF, biomaterial autologous and platelet concentrate of second generation, is a fibrin matrix containing leukocytes, platelets and growth factors, which are necessary for the healing process, giving to this biomaterial, very useful in various areas of health, including dentistry. With this review, we conclude that FRP is a real alternative to improve healing of surgical procedures and enhance other regenerative biomaterials in several areas of dentistry, in addition to accessibility and low cost.

ABSTRACT

Objetivos: Describir las características macroscópicas, microscópicas y la caracterización del material de instrumentos rotatorios de Níquel-Titanio (NiTi), ProTaper Universal, en comparación con instrumentos similares de dudosa procedencia. Material y métodos: El análisis macroscópico se realizó por medio de fotografía macro de las cajas e instrumentos. Para el análisis microscópico, se utilizaron los instrumentos S1 y F1, los cuales fueron seccionados y analizados a través de Microscopía electrónica de barrido comparando las partes activas y las secciones transversales con una magnificación de 300 a 550X. Adicionalmente, se realizó la caracterización de los fragmentos, a través de microanálisis por dispersión de energías de rayos-X (EDX). Resultados: Al análisis macroscópico, las cajas de los sistemas presentaron diferencias en el diseño y especificaciones, los vástagos de los instrumentos presentaron diferencias de forma, color y acabado, y las partes activas de algunos instrumentos, presentaron diferencias de diámetro, forma y acabado. Al análisis microscópico, los instrumentos adulterados presentaron ángulos de corte menos afilados y ausencia de convexidades triangulares. Al comparar la composición química de los instrumentos, el análisis EDX mostró que ambos instrumentos tienen una composición Ni-Ti similar. Conclusiones: Las mayores diferencias entre el sistema ProTaper Universal y su homólogo adulterado se presentaron en el análisis macroscópico. El análisis microscópico presentó diferencias principalmente en el formato de la sección transversal.


Objectives: To describe the macroscopic, microscopic characteristics and material characterization of nickel titanium (NiTi) ProTaper Universal system scompared to similar instruments of dubious origin. Material and methods: Macroscopic analysis was performed using macro photography of the boxes and files. For microscopic analysis, S1 and F1 files were used, which were sectioned and analyzed by scanning electron microscopy comparing active parts and cross-sections at 300-550X magnification. Additionally, the characterization of fragments was performed by energy dispersive x-ray microanalysis (EDX). Results: Macroscopic analysis showed that boxes differed in design and specifications. File shanks showed differences in shape, color, finish. The active part of some files showed differences in diameter, shape and finish. Microscopic analysis indicated that adulterated files showed less sharp cutting angles and absence of triangular convexities. By EDX, comparing the chemical composition of the instruments, it was shown that both instruments have a composition Ni-Ti like. Conclusions: The major differences between ProTaper Universal system and its counterpart adulterated, were presented in macroscopic analysis. Microscopic analysis showed differences mainly in cross-section configuration.

ABSTRACT

O propósito do estudo foi realizar uma revisão da literatura sobre a cirurgia guiada na Implantodontia, a fim de destacar indicações, planejamento, vantagens, limitações, técnica propriamente dita, carga imediata de implantes bem como as possíveis complicações, o protocolo de fabricação e o funcionamento do software de planejamento virtual. Para isto realizou-se um levantamento blibliográfico por meio das bases de dados Medline (Pubmed) e Bireme desde o ano de 1990 até 2010, utilizando como descritores: “Implante dentário”, “Dental Implant”, “Cirurgia Assistida por Computador”, “Computer Aided Surgery”, “Cirurgia Guiada”, “Guided Surgery”, “Prótese Implantossuportada” e “Implant-Supported Prosthesis”. Quarenta estudos sobre esse tema, nas línguas Inglesa e Portuguesa, foram selecionados e analisados. Baseado na revisão de literatura foi possível concluir que a técnica de cirurgia guiada na implantodontia representa uma excelente modalidade terapêutica para a inserção dos implantes em pacientes com quantidade óssea satisfatória. O sucesso de uma prótese de carga imediata fabricada anteriormente à cirurgia depende da precisão de todas as etapas clínicas e do planejamento laboratorial virtual


The purpose of the study was to review the literature on Implant Guided Surgery in order to highlight some aspects such as: information, planning, advantages, limitations, proper technique, immediate loading of implants and possible complications, protocol and operation of manufacturing planning software virtual. This literature review was based on OLDMEDLINE and MEDLINE databases from 1990 to 2010 using as descriptors: “Dental Implant”, “Computer Aided Surgery”, “Guided Surgery” and “Implant-Supported Prosthesis”. Forty studies on this topic were selected both in English and Portuguese, and then analyzed. Based on this literature review it was concluded that the technique of guide surgery represents an excellent therapeutic modality for the insertion of implants in patients with satisfactory bone quantity. The success of an immediately loaded prosthesis manufactured prior to the surgery depends on the accuracy of all clinical stages and the virtual laboratory planning

ABSTRACT

O objetivo deste trabalho é descrever, ilustrar clinicamente e discutir uma forma efetiva, simples e racional de preparos dentais para coroas totais anteriores cerâmicas. Essa técnica visa à confec-ção de preparos dentais por meio da utilização de número reduzido de etapas clínicas e pontas diamantadas. Os princípios biológicos, mecânicos, funcionais e estéticos são atingidos de maneira lógica, dentro dos requisitos regidos pela odontologia estética contemporânea. Ao final da leitura, espera-se que o cirurgião dentista compreenda a configuração das paredes axial e cervical dos preparos para coroas totais anteriores cerâmicas e realize o procedimento de maneira rápida e eficiente. Apesar da citação numérica específica das pontas diamantadas utilizadas, espera-se que o leitor as utilize como referência, lembrando ser mais importante a compreensão de sua configuração geométrica e volume. Outros fabricantes possuem pontas diamantadas com a mesma configuração geométrica das pontas recomendadas nesta técnica. Dessa forma, cabe ao profissional selecionar as pontas diamantadas de acordo com seu fabricante de eleição


The aim of this study is to describe, illustrate and discuss a simple, effective and rational method for preparing anterior all-ceramic restorations. This procedure uses a reduced number of diamond burs and a few clinical steps. The biological, mechanical, functional and aesthetic principles are obtained in a reasonable manner, regarding the requirements’ supported by the contemporary aesthetic dentistry. At the end of reading, it is expected that the professionals understand the design of the axial and cervical dental walls. Finally, the dental preparations will be made in a rapid and efficient manner. Despite the citation of specific diamond burs, it is expected that the reader use them as a reference. The understanding of their geometric configuration and volume are more important than their manufacturer’s reference number. Other manufacturers have diamond burs with the same geometric configuration of those recommended in this technique. Thus, the clinical professional must select the diamond points according to their manufacturer of choice
