ABSTRACT

This is the first report on the echo Doppler findings in a patient with typhoid myocarditis. This patient developed acute, severe left ventricular failure requiring ventilation and inotropic support. The echocardiogram showed myocardial edema and decreased contractility. The patient finally recovered. We would recommend that patients with typhoid myocarditis who develop signs and symptoms of heart failure should have an echocardiographic study
