ABSTRACT

A moderate degree of inequality in the crude mortality rates of the Health Service areas existed in Chile in 1992. The differences, however, were much steeper in the case of children, adolescents and young adults and were accentuated further when exhibit the levels of risk of women in the most favoured area, the number of years of potential life lost would be reduced by aproximately 57 percent (1992). These data are of use in guilding local and regional health programmes
