Implants in the esthetic zone; challenges and solutions: part 1

In the anterior maxilla, esthetic and functional treatment outcomes highly depend on the level of alveolar ridge reconstruction or preservation. Insufficiency of alveolar bone may necessitate an augmentation procedure to achieve optimum results. Implant treatment showed high success rates but many challenges are faced. This review presents the challenges associated with implant treatment at anterior maxilla as well as ridge preservation techniques to overcome some of the challenges. It ends with the evidence based knowledge pertinent to this topic
