ABSTRACT

【Objective】 To analyze the current situation of human parvovirus B19 infection in blood donors in different regions of China, so as to provide basis for formulating reasonable screening programs of B19 virus for blood donors in various cities and regions. 【Methods】 The literatures related to human parvovirus B19 infection in whole blood and plasma donors published from 1998 to 2021 were searched in the database, and meta-analysis of literatures that satisfied the inclusion criteria was conducted by R4.1.0 software. 【Results】 A total of 35 literatures were obtained, 20 literatures involving 56 846 blood donor samples and 8 literatures involving 1 608 pooled raw plasma samples were subjected to Meta analysis of the positive rates of B19 DNA; 17 literatures involving 12 308 blood sample were subjected to the Meta analysis of the positive rate of B19 IgG antibody. The positive rates of B19 DNA in blood donors(I2=96%, τ2=0.026 0, P<0.01)and pooled raw plasma (I2=98%, τ2=0.124 5, P<0.01), as well as the positive rate of B19 IgG antibod (I2=98%, τ 2 =0.021 0, P < 0.01) presented significant heterogeneity between regions. The combined positive rate of B19 DNA was estimated to be 2.0% (95%-CI: 0.007~0.039), that of pooled raw plasma for production was 66.6% (95%-CI: 0.476~0.832), and that of B19 IgG antibody was 30.2% (95%-CI: 0.246~0.357). 【Conclusion】 Low HPV B19 infection rate and high positive rate of IgG antibody were found in blood donors. Therefore, the risk of B19 virus infection due to blood transfusion is low, but B19 infections in blood donors varied significantly between regions. Domestic cities and regions should reasonably evaluate their own B19 virus infection status to formulate appropriate B19 virus screening programs for blood donors, so as to reduce blood transfusion transmitted risk of B19 virus. In addition, the infection rate of B19 virus in pooled plasma for production is somewhat high. Recipients should be screened for B19 virus antibodies, and appropriate blood transfusion schemes should be formulated for blood recipients lacking neutralizing B19 IgG antibodies to reduce the exposure of B19 virus.

ABSTRACT

Objective@#To investigate the prevalence of hyperuricemia and its correlation among adolescents aged 13-16 in Hanjiang district of Yangzhou city.@*Methods@#Five hundred and nine adolescents aged 13-16 years in Hangjiang district of Yangzhou city were recruited. Their fasting serum uric acid level were measured by Benecheck premium UA monitoring system. The demographic imformation, family history, eating and living habits of the respondents were collected by questionnaires.@*Results@#The average serum uric acid level of 509 adolescents in Hangjiang district of Yangzhou city was (374±98) μmol/L, and (420±103) μmol/L in males, higher than that of females [(329±70) μmol/L](t=11.69, P<0.05). The overall prevalence of HUA was 36.9%(188/509), and 43.2%(108/250) in males, higher than in females 30.8%(80/259)(χ2=4.16, P<0.05). Multivariate Logistic regression analysis showed that male [OR=1.70, 95%CI(1.18, 2.45)], obese [OR=8.99, 95%CI(4.58, 17.63)], high-salt oily diet [OR=1.67, 95%CI(1.05, 2.61)], soy products [OR=2.66, 95%CI(1.45, 4.88)], animal offal [OR=7.81, 95%CI(3.42, 17.83)], seafood [OR=4.80, 95%CI(2.83, 8.12)], sugary drinks [OR=6.49, 95%CI(3.08, 13.64)] and time spent on electronic products [OR=1.98, 95%CI(1.07, 3.65)] might be risk factors for hyperuricemia (P<0.05), while fruit [OR=0.52, 95%CI(0.32, 0.85)] and outdoor activities [OR=0.55, 95%CI(0.33, 0.92)] might be protective factors for HUA (P<0.05).@*Conclusion@#There is a high prevalence of hyperuricemia among adolescents aged 13-16 in Hangjiang district of Yangzhou city. The level of serum uric acid in adolescents significantly increased. Male, obesity, high salt and oily diets, soy products, animal offal, seafood, and sugary drinks may be risk factors for HUA. Fruits and outdoor activities may be protective factors for HUA. Relevant disciplines can take corresponding measures to prevent adolescent HUA.

ABSTRACT

AIM To investigate the curative effects of Kuntai Capsules (Coptidis Rhizoma,Scutellariae Radix,Asini Corii Colla, etc.) on rat model for primary ovarian insufficiency (POI) caused by 4-vinylcyclohexene diepoxide (VCD).METHODS Seventy-five weaned 21-day old rats were divided equally into five groups randomly:control group, model group,low-,medium-,and high-dosage Kuntain group.Except the control group was given sesame oil rats, other four groups were given intraperitoneal injection of VCD solution.According to vaginal smear of rats, eight rats in each group were selected, the levels of FSH (follicle-stimulating hormone),LH (leuteinizing hormone),E2 (estradiol) and AMH (anti-Mullerian hormone) were measured, and morphological changes of ovary and uterus were observed.RESULTS Compared to the control group,FSH level in rats' serum of the model group significantly increased while AMH and E2 levels significantly decreased, and LH level rose;Kuntai Capsules significantly decreased FSH level while increased AMH level; The wet weight of rats' ovary in the model group was lighter than that in the control group. The ovary weight of Kuntai Capsules low-dosage group was increased;the number of follicles at all levels and corpora lutea of rats in the model group were decreased. After the treatment with Kuntai Capsules, the number of follicles at all levels and corpora lutea were increased;light microscopy manifested decreased uterine glands of the tube wall, reduced glandular cavity. After the treatment with Kuntai Capsules, the number of uterine glands increased and the gland cavity expanded.CONCLUSION Kuntai Capsules may slowdown the functional decline rate of ovarian.
