ABSTRACT
Introducción: La cirrosis hepática es causante de miles de muertes en el mundo, representa el estadio final de cualquier hepatopatía crónica, independientemente de sus múltiples etiologías. Objetivo: Determinar los factores de riesgo para cirrosis hepática en la población adulta asegurada de la Red Asistencial Essalud Lambayeque EsSalud 2005-2008. Materiales y Métodos:estudio cuantitativo: prospectivo, observacional, diseño analítico tipo casos y controles pareado, se incluyó 140 pacientes diagnosticados con cirrosis hepática, con el doble de controles pareados por edad y sexo. Resultados: Se encontró que alcoholismo OR: 16,17 (IC 95%: 9,78-26,73) hepatitis B OR: 5,03 (IC 95%: 2,01-12,54) diabetes mellitus OR: 1,89 (IC 95%: 1,22-2,94) como factores de riesgo. Conclusión: La ingesta de alcohol es el principal factor de riesgo en las enfermedades del hígado en la población asegurada de la Red Lambayeque. (AU)
Introduction: The hepatic cirrhosis is the cause of thousands of deaths in the world; it represents the final stage of any chronic hepatopathy, independently of its many multiple etiologies. Objective: To determine the main risk factors for hepatic cirrhosis in the adult population of the social security network of Lambayeque - Essalud. 2005 2008. Material and Methods: quantitative study, prospective, observational, analytical design of paired cases and controls, 140 patients diagnosed with hepatic cirrhosis were included, with the double of controls, paired by age and sex. Results: The following ORs were found: alcoholism OR: 16.,17 (CI 95%: 9, 78-26, 73), hepatitis B : 5,03 (IC 95%: 2,01-12,54) diabetes mellitus OR: 1,89 (IC 95%: 1,22-2,94), all these being risk factors.Conclusion: The intake of alcohol is the main risk factor for liver diseases in adults of the social security network of Lambayeque.(AU)
