ABSTRACT

Introdução: trauma está relacionado com acontecimentos indesejáveis produzindo lesão ou alteração devários tipos. As crianças são as mais suscetíveis aos acidentes sendo a maior causa de morte na idade pediátrica.O objetivo deste estudo é analisar os aspectos epidemiológicos dos pequenos traumas em crianças atendidas no serviço de emergência do Hospital Infantil Joana de Gusmão (HIJG).Métodos: estudo prospectivo, transversal, abrangendo vítimas de pequenos traumas atendidas no (HIJG),Florianópolis, entre julho de 2004 e maio de 2005. Resultados: dos 387 pacientes, 66,4% eram meninos. Os pré-escolares foram acometidos em 39,0%. Trezentas e vinte e nove crianças eram brancas, 316 freqüentavam escola e 59,9% dos acidentes ocorreram nofinal de semana, 74,4% à tarde. Os pais estudaram até o ensino fundamental em 42,9% e a renda familiar entre 3 e 5 salários mínimos em 26,4%. As crianças eram procedentes do centro de Florianópolis em 45,5%, em 35,1%o acidente ocorreu no quintal da casa e 37,7% na companhia dos pais. A face foi mais atingida (42,6%) e a queda da própria altura mais freqüente (27,4%).Conclusão: o perfil predominante é um menino, préescolar, branco, procedente do centro de Florianópolis, com renda familiar entre 3 e 5 salários mínimos, que freqüenta escola, pais com escolaridade de ensino fundamental, apresentando queda da própria altura no quintal de casa, em companhia dos pais, no final de semana, período vespertino, sendo a face região do corpo acometida.


Background: trauma is related with undesirable facts resulting in different types of lesions. The children aremore susceptive to accidents being the major case of death in pediatrics age. The objective of the study is to analyze the epidemiological aspects of the minor traumas in children attended from Hospital Infantil Joana de Gusmão’s (HIJG) emergency. Methods: A prospective, transversal study, embracing minor traumas children from Hospital Infantil Joana de Gusmão’s (HIJG) emergency, Florianópolis, in theperiod of july 2004 to may 2005.Results: of the patients’ 387, 66,4% were boys. The pre-school were injured in 39,0%. It was found that 329children were white, 316 frequenting school and 59,9% of the accidents were in the weekend, 74,4% at the afternoon.The education’s level of the parents was elementary school in 42,9% and the family income locates between 3 and 5 minimum wages in 26,4%. The children(45,5%) was from Florianópolis downtown and in 35,1% the accident was at home’s yard, 37,7% with theparents presence. The face was the most affected (42,6%) and fall from height the most prevalent accident(27,4%). Conclusion: the predominant profile, it belongs to a boy, pre-school, white, coming from Florianópolis downtown, family income between 3 and 5 minimum wages, parents in the elementary school education’s level, fallfrom height at home’s yard was the most prevalent accident, in parents company, in the weekend, at the afternoon and the face was the most injured part of the body.
