ABSTRACT
Colorectal cancer (CRC) accounts for 9.7% of all cancers with 1.4 million new cases diagnosed each year. 1931% of CRC patients develop colorectal liver metastases, and 2338% develop extra-hepatic disease1 . 15-25% will be presented synchronously and 25-40% will metachronously2 . Surgical resection is the only potentially curative treatment and, in the case of synchronous metastases, the debate is whether to resect simultaneously, before or after the primary tumor.
