ABSTRACT
Alimentary tract duplications have varied presentation and are often misdiagnosd. A 5- year-old girl presented with abdominal pain, vomiting, and bleeding per rectum. She had a long history of various gastrointestinal symptoms and was being managed as a case of celiac disease. Ultrasound abdomen during current admission suggested an intussusception. At operation, a long tubular communicating duplication of ileum was found. Resection and end to end anastomosis was curative
ABSTRACT
Inflammatory pseudotumor is one of infrequent lesions of mesentery in pediatric age group. They usually mimic a malignant lesion. A 5-year-old male child presented with abdominal pain and a palpable mass in the umbilical region. Ultrasound revealed a mixed echoic mass in the same area. CT scan showed a solid mass with internal calcifications. At operation a hard mass in the mesentery of the distal ileum was found. The mass was excised completely and limited hemicolectomy done. Histopathology of the excised specimen was reported as inflammatory pseudotumour of the mesentery

In children, accidental ingestion of acid produces gastric outlet obstruction in most instances. Rarely, gastric perforation may occur. A 3-year-old boy presented immediately after accidental ingestion of hydrochloric acid [HCI] with abdominal distension, lethargy, and acidotic breathing. Abdominal radiograph revealed massive air under diaphragm. Laparotomy was performed after initial resuscitation. Stomach was found sloughed off at the greater curvature. The necrosed gastric part was resected and the remaining stomach repaired transversely. The patient is in follow up
