ABSTRACT

From 2011 to 2020, there were 111 213 cases of rabies exposed people recruited from the rabies immunization clinic of a hospital in Beijing. The monthly distribution of patients in each year was not statistically significant (P>0.05). The distribution of patients showed remarkable seasonality, with the exposure peak from May to October. The ratio of male to female was 1∶1.3. The majority of patients were aged 20-29 years old (39.1%) and in-service personnel (56.5%). Level-Ⅱ wounds (84.2%) were more common than level-Ⅲ wounds (14.9%). The number of visits to level-Ⅲwounds increased rapidly since 2017. The most common injured body part was hand (60.7%). Dogs were the most common animal for injuries (60.6%), followed by cats (32.3%), of which most were host animals (75.5%). The vaccination rate from 2016 to 2020 [49.8% (24 276/48 703)] was significantly higher than that from 2011 to 2015[18.6% (6 559/35 272)](χ²=8597.18, P<0.001).

ABSTRACT

OBJECTIVE@#To investigate the correlation between FOXP3, CD11c protein expression and the prognosis of patients with diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (DLBCL).@*METHODS@#This study included 48 patients with DLBCL who were admitted to Jiujiang No.1 People's Hospital and TCM-Integrated Hospital of Southern Medical University from January 2015 to January 2019. The DLBCL tissues removed during the operation were collected as test specimens. The expression of FOXP3 and CD11c protein were detected by immunohistochemistry. The deadline for postoperative follow-up was December 31, 2019, and the patient's short-term efficacy (complete remission, partial remission) and progression-free survival were recorded.@*RESULTS@#FOXP3 protein was positively expressed in the nucleus, mostly focally or diffusely distributed, the FOXP3@*CONCLUSION@#In some patients with DLBCL, FOXP3 and CD11c expresse positively, and the positive expression rate is related to the clinical stage and international prognostic index score. The positive expression of FOXP3 and CD11c indicate a good prognosis.

ABSTRACT

The clinical experience of professor in treatment of dysmenorrhea with "three-regulation and one-harmonization" therapy of acupuncture was introduced. Professor invented a needling technique for "three-regulation and one-harmonization", meaning regulation, blood regulation and regulation of meridian tendon region as well as the spirit () harmonization. In regulation, the extreme fine needles are used to regulate movement of the whole function with the coordination of respiration and the corresponding acupoint prescriptions. In blood regulation, the special small bleeding device is selected and the bloodletting theory is improved for bloodletting at the specific stagnant site. In the regulation of meridian tendon region, a special sterile injection needle is chosen to release the cord-like mass. The spirit harmonization is exerted in combination with regulation. During acupuncture, the spirit of both the clinical practitioner and the patient should be in a harmonized spirit condition, coordinated with respiration regulation. In the treatment with acupuncture therapy of "three-regulation and one-harmonization" for dysmenorrhea, bloodletting therapy is used firstly to remove stasis, secondly, the "releasing cord-like mass" technique is followed to regulate meridian tendon region, finally, the fine needling technique is adopted to regulate and harmonize spirit. The clinical effect is definite in clinical practice.

ABSTRACT

OBJECTIVETo investigate the diagnosis, surgical procedure and clinical outcome of cervical intraspinal benign neoplasm.

METHODSTwenty-two cases confirmed pathologically were reviewed included 16 males and 6 females with an average age of 43.8 years old ranging from 18 to 56 years. Symptoms mainly included neck pain, numbness and weakness of the extremities, urinary and fecal incontinence, pyramid signs, etc. All underwent X-ray, CT and MRI, 11 cases were diagnosed as neurilemomas, 4 neurofibromas, 3 spinal meningiomas, 2 intraspinal cysts and 2 lipomas. The tumors were removed completely in 18 cases, above 60% in 3 cases and 25% with biopsy in 1 case. Cervical stability in 11 cases was restored after removal of tumors.

RESULTSAll were followed-up for from 6 to 84 months(means 12.5 months). Symptoms improved in 20 cases and stable in 1 case and worsened in 1 case postoperatively according to JOA scoring system. Two patients recurred and were treated with second surgery. JOA scoring was (6.52 +/- 1.10) before operation, (11.42 +/- 0.79) after operation, there was statically significance (t = 21.38, P < 0.001). The average recover ratio of total was (46.7 +/- 2.46)%, cervical stability was (62.37 +/- 3.58)%, the other methods was (41.21 +/- 4.63)%. The results of JOA were excellent in 18 cases, good in 2, fair in 1 and poor in 1.

CONCLUSIONThe surgical exairesis for cervical intraspinal benign neoplasm has low post-operative recurrence. The main reason of recurrence is not removed the tumor completely. MRI is regarded the effective method which is helpful in differential diagnosis and surgery guidance.

ABSTRACT

Objective To construct five shRNA-expression plasmids and to investigate the expression of Smad2 in TGF-?/ Smads signal transduction treated with shRNA-expression plasmid. Methods Five shRNA-Smad2 DNA sequences from mRNA sequence of mouse Smad2 gene were designed and synthesized.DNA oligonucleotides encoding an appropriate shRNA were inserted to shRNA expression vector respectively.Five shRNA-Smad2 expression plasmids were obtained and then transfected into NIH/3T3 cells. The suppressed expression of Smad2 was assessed by RT-PCR and Western-blotting.Results The shRNA-expression plasmid numbered 2.4 could markedly reduce the expression of Smad2.The suppression effect of the RNAi-pool composed of four different plasmids was more obvious than that of any single. Conclusion The shRNA-expression plasmids were successfully constructed, which could specifically and effectively suppress the expression of Smad2.The method of using a mixture of RNAi plasmids to improve the RNAi efficiency was established.
