ABSTRACT

This report concern 170 children having acute diarrhea and aged 0-6 years. They have been examinated in consultation from first July to 30 September 1986. Etiology have been prouved in 34,5% of cases: - Bacteria: 27 [15,8%]: Salmonella [4], Shigella [7], Campylobacter [8], Coll. [8]. -Rotavirus: 21 [12,3%] - Parasites: 11 [6,4%]: Giardia [10], Ascaris [1]. The presence of leukocytes in stools is the characteristic of bacterial origin. In another group of 84 children without diarrhea, we found a positive etiology in 7,1% of cases
