ABSTRACT

@#Abstract:Objective To evaluate the basic development status of public health emergencies of infectious diseases in Hainan Province from 2013 to 2022, analyze the distribution and characteristics of these emergencies, as to provide important scientific basis for the study and formulation of economic health development planning policies, for the health security policies and infectious disease prevention and control strategies in Hainan Province. Methods The relevant statistical data of public health emergencies involving infectious diseases reported in Hainan Province from 2013 to 2022 were collected, and the status quo of these emergencies was analyzed by using descriptive data statistical analysis method. The ARIMA model was used to predict the number of public health emergencies reported by infectious diseases in Hainan Province from 2023 to 2025. Results From 2013 to 2022, a total of 482 public health emergencies were reported in Hainan Province, of which 426 were infectious disease public health emergencies, accounting for 88.38%, with a total of 8 876 cases, an incidence rate of 0.61%, and eight deaths, a case fatality rate of 0.09%. The major public health emergencies of infectious diseases were unclassified events and general events, accounting for 69.25% and 29.58%, respectively. The main diseases were novel coronavirus infection, chickenpox and hand, foot and mouth disease, accounting for 45.07%, 15.49% and 11.97%, respectively; in terms of time distribution, the number of reported incidents showed an upward trend over time, with a decline in 2021, and mainly had three peak periods, April, August and December, with a total of 220 cases reported; in terms of regional distribution, the major cities and counties reported were Haikou, Wanning and Wenchang, accounting for 27.46%, 19.25% and 9.86%, respectively; in terms of location distribution, the events mainly occurred in schools, accounting for 42.02% of the total number of incidents. The ARIMA(1, 1, 0) model was used to predict infectious disease public health emergencies, and the results showed that the forecast state would be stable from 2023 to 2025, with no obvious upward trend, that is, the fluctuation range of public health emergencies related to infectious diseases in Hainan Province would be stable in the next three years. Conclusion The number of infectious disease public health emergencies reported in Hainan Province from 2013 to 2022 has increased year by year, with a decline in 2021. Although the forecast shows that public health emergencies such as infectious diseases are relatively stable with no obvious upward trend, the prevention and control of the epidemic should not be taken lightly. Hainan Province should continue to increase the investment in monitoring public health emergencies, improve the information system of public disease prevention and control, and carry out real-time monitoring of public health emergencies of infectious diseases.

ABSTRACT

Objective@#To understand the prevalence and associated factors of spinal curvature in children and adolescents in the Yangtze River Delta Region and to provide reference and help for the prevention and intervention of spinal curvature in children and adolescents.@*Methods@#From September to November 2021, 8 246 middle school students in Anhui, Jiangsu, Shanghai, and Zhejiang provinces in the Yangtze River Delta Region were selected by stratified cluster sampling for spinal curvature assessment and questionnaire survey.@*Results@#The detection rate of spinal curvature in middle school students in the Yangtze River Delta was 8.46 %. Girls (9.82%) were significantly higher than boys (7.20%)( χ 2=18.25, P <0.01), and students from urban area (10.77%) was significantly higher than that of suburban area (4.94%)( χ 2=86.75, P <0.01). Junior high school students (6.65%) were significantly lower than high school students (10.34%)( χ 2=36.26, P <0.01). Logistic regression analysis showed that urban area( OR= 2.58, 95%CI =1.72-3.86), time usage of electronic equipment ≥ 3 h/d( OR=1.61, 95%CI =1.14-2.29), break between near work for more than 1 h ( OR=1.42, 95%CI =1.01-1.97) and outdoor activity <2 h/d( OR=1.84, 95%CI =1.26-2.69) were positively correlated with the occurrence of spinal curvature( P <0.05).@*Conclusion@#The detection rate of spinal curvature in middle school students in the Yangtze River Delta is relatively high, which is related to time spent on screen, near work and outdoor activity. Education and guidance should be strengthened to reduce the detection rate of spinal curvature.

ABSTRACT

Objective@#To understand the overall mental health status of freshmen in colleges and universities in Jiangsu Province, to investigate the effectiveness of mental health courses in improving the mental health of freshmen, so as to provide a reference for improving the mental health of freshmen.@*Methods@#A total of 3 358 freshmen from a university in Jiangsu were selected from March to April 2019, mental health courses were held once(2 class hours each time) a week for 8 consecutive weeks,16 class hours in total(8 class hours of classroom teaching, and 8 class hours of experiential teaching). All the participants were used the Chinese College Students Mental Health Scale to conduct a questionnaire survey followed up before, during and after the implementation of mental health courses.@*Results@#A total of 186 students with serious psychological problems were screened before the course, accounting for 5.54% of the total number, 310 students with general psychological problems, accounting for 9.23% of the total number, and 579 students with potential psychological distress, accounting for the total number 17.23% of the total number of people, 2 283 students without psychological distress, accounting for 67.99% of the total number. In the early, middle and late periods of the course, psychological problems showed a downward trend, and the main effect of time was significant(all P <0.01). After the implementation of the mental health course, the detection rate of serious psychological problems (3.84%, 129/3 358) was significantly lower than before the course(5.54%, 186/3 358)( χ 2= 10.82 , P <0.01). In the early, middle and late periods of the course, the development trajectory of freshmen s psychological problems was divided into two types, namely "first ascending and then descending" (26%) and "slowly descending"(74%).@*Conclusion@#The mental health curriculum shows a positive effect on improving the mental health of freshmen. Colleges and universities should pay attention to the construction of mental health curriculum to fully guarantee the quality of the curriculum.

ABSTRACT

Objective@#To investigate the nutritional status of children with autism spectrum disorders, and to provide a reference for improving their nutritional status.@*Methods@#120 children with autism spectrum disorder who were treated in the rehabilitation center of Affiliated Children s Hospital of Zhengzhou University from September 2016 to September 2018 were selected as case group,and 120 normal children in the physical examination center of the same hospital were selected as the healthy group.The children s status was assessed by using the Clancy Autism Behavior Scale(CABS), and the serum nutrients levels were compared between these two groups.@*Results@#Compared with the healthy group,the Vitamin A[(83.44±9.20,59.45±4.42)mg/L],Vitamin B6[(64.15±11.22,32.02±5.75)mg/L],Vitamin C[(60.62±10.26,47.63±13.12)mg/L],protein[(120.45±30.51,104.46±9.38)g/L], iron[(134.25±18.16,112.17±6.02)mg/L], calcium[(72.96±10.62,66.57±4.11)mg/L], zinc[(70.85±5.76,62.52±10.66)mg/L] and folic acid[(31.38±6.77,20.29±6.26)mg/L], eicosapentaenoic acid(EPA)[(0.72±0.22,0.55±0.14)μmol/L], decosahexaenoic acid(DHA)[(1.54±0.35,1.22±0.26)μmol/L] and arachidonic acid(AA)[(5.51±0.76,5.03±0.16)μmol/L] were lower(t=25.75,27.92,8.54,5.49,12.64,6.30,7.53,13.18,7.14,8.04,6.77,P<0.05), the low body weight(49.17%,63.33%) and wasting(38.33%,46.67%) in autism spectrum disorder group were higher significantly(χ2=4.89,6.71,P<0.05).@*Conclusion@#The nutritional status of children with autism spectrum disorder is different from that of normal children. The lack of serum nutrients will lead to a high incidence of malnutrition.

ABSTRACT

The biomarkers associated with coronary artery lesions (CAL) secondary to Kawasaki disease (KD) in Chinese children were investigated by using Meta-analysis.We searched documents published from January 1997 to December 2009 from medical electronic databases.According to inclusion and exclusion criteria,eligible full-text papers were identified.We conducted a comprehensive quantitative analysis by using Statal 0.0 statistical software package to assess the heterogeneity among the documents,calculated the summary effect and analyze publication bias and sensitivity.A total of 92 documents and 16 biomarkers were identified.All documents were case-control studies,and included 2398 patients in CAL group and 5932 patients in non-CAL (NCAL) group.The Meta-analysis showed that the levels of platelet count,platelet hematocrit (PCT),neutrophils count,platelet distribution width (PDW),mean platelet volume (MPV),erythrocyte sedimentation rate (ESR),cardiac troponin Ⅰ (cTnI),and endothelin-1 (ET-1) in CAL group were significantly higher than those in NCAL group,and serum albumin (Alb) and hemoglobin (Hb) levels were significantly lower in CAL group (all P<0.05).White blood cell (WBC) count,serum sodium,matrix metalloproteinase 9 (MMP-9),total cholesterol (TC),hematocrit (HCT) and CD3+T lymphocytes percentage had no statistically significant difference between the two groups.In conclusion,our results indicated that the 10 biomarkers including platelet count,neutrophils count,PCT,PDW,MPV,ESR,cTnI,ET-1,Alb and Hb were associated with CAL,and may be involved in the pathogenesis of CAL.The biomarkers of WBC count,serum sodium,MMP-9,TC,HCT,and CD3+T lymphocytes percentage bore no relationship with the development of CAL among Chinese children with KD.
