ABSTRACT
Objective To investigate the relationship of the distribution and heterogeneity of cagA gene of Chinese H. pylori isolates with Hp-associated gastroduodenal!diseases in China. Methods Pairs of oligonucleotide primers flanking a conservative 297bp segment and the variable segment of 3' region of cagA gene were designed according to the conserved cagA sequences, and the distribution of cagA gene in 82 Chinese H. pylori isolates and the heterogeneity of variable segment of cagA gene 3' region of 77 H. pylori strains were determined with PCR. Results 77(93.9%) of 82 Chinese Hp isolates were found to be cagA-positive by PCR amplification of the 297bp segment. The variable segment of 3' region of cagA genes was detected in 71(93.9%) of 77 Chinese H. pylori strains, including two without 297bp amplicon, with predominance of PCR products of about 825bp which were designated as type Ⅰ in China. Conclusion The prevalence of cagA is high in Chinese Hp isolates, and the cagA of type Ⅰ with the shortest variable 3' region predominates in China. Neither cagA nor the length of cagA 3' region is associated with the clinical outcome of Hp infection.

Objective:Our previous result showed unravel the functional status of DC in the tissue of gastric cancer (GC) and precancerous lesions, and probed into the possibility of preventing solid carcinoma such as GC.Methods:In the experiment of immunotherapy for the tumor-bearing mice,treated by DC sensitized by mRNA of gastric acncer cells.Results:The indices such as the production rate of ascites of mice(75%),the metastasis rate of tumor(25%),the survival rate of animals (75%) and the average weight of trmor(2.04?0.33 g)showed that the condition of the mice treated by DC was better than that in the control group(P

Objective E cadherin catenin complex mediates cell cell adhesion and plays an important role in maintaining normal architecture and function of epithelial tissues. We evaluated the expression patterns of E cadherin, ? catenin, and ? catenin in gastric carcinoma and determine the potential relationship between E cadherin catenin complex and tumor clinicopathological features as well as patient survival. Methods Immunohistochemical staining of E cadherin, ? catenin, and ? catenin in 148 gastric carcinomas was performed. Results The abnormal expression rates of E cadherin, ? catenin and ? catenin in the tissues of gastric carcinomas were 44.6%, 73.6% and 43.2%, respectively. The total abnormal expression rate of E cadherin complex in 148 cases of gastric carcinoma was 91.9%. 0.05).It is concluded that furazolidone in small doses is as efficacious as Denol in the treatment of duodenal ulcer and the clearance of H.pylori,and it be a safe substitute for the routine dose of furazolidone for the treatment of duodenal ulcer.
