ABSTRACT
The childbirth humanization searches to discourage the technological and artificial medicalized approach to childbirth, and to stimulate the practical and biomechanical interventions during the labor as deambulation, exercise, massage, hot baths, considered more adjusted to the physiology of the childbirth, and, therefore, less aggressive and more natural. We suggested that the physical therapy performance during the obstetric labor can favor it, even though studies had shown no differences between them. Thus, we cannot define specific techniques that can favor the obstetric labor, but the challenge of the health professionals is still to reduce the expectations gap of the parturient.
