ABSTRACT
A exigência estética na Odontologia atual levou ao desenvolvimento de cerâmicas reforçadas como substitutas ou mesmo como alternativas às ligas metálicas na confecção de infraestruturas protéticas. As cerâmicas reforçadas com dióxido de zircônia e estabilizadas por ítrio apresentam-se como mais uma opção dentro de um imenso arsenal terapêutico na busca de construção de restaurações imperceptíveis. Coroas totais e próteses parciais fixas anteriores e posteriores são indicadas para esses novos sistemas. Alguns deles utilizam o sistema CAD/CAM, mais precisamente o sistema DCM (Direct Ceramic Machining, ou fresagem direta da cerâmica). Este trabalho tem como objetivo relatar um caso clínico de confecção de duas coroas anteriores em cerâmica pura utilizando o Sistema Cercon.
The current esthetic dentistry has led to the development of reinforced ceramics as a substitute or as alternatives to metal alloys in the manufacture of prosthetic substructures. Ceramics reinforced with zirconium dioxide and stabilized with yttrium presents as another option within an immense therapeutic arsenal in the quest for building imperceptible restorations. Total crowns and anterior and posterior fixed partial dentures are indicated for these new systems. Some of them use the CAD/CAM technology, more precisely the DCM system (Direct Ceramic Machining). This paper aims at reporting a case of manufacture of two all-ceramic anterior crowns using the Cercon® system.
