ABSTRACT

OBJECTIVETo apply the membrane separation process in the concentration process of Chuanxiong Chatiao granules and to lay the foundation for its industrialized application.

METHODThe type of membrane, the optimal pressure, the optimal temperature and the optimal detergent were selected by the single factor method. A comparative study was conducted between qualities of extracts from Chuanxiong Chatiao granules by new and traditional processes.

RESULTThe type of membrane was determined to be SMN-130A2350054. The optimal pressure was 1.7 MPa. The optimal temperature was 36 degrees C and the optimal detergent was 1% sodium polyphosphate. The qualities of extracts from Chuanxiong Chatiao granules by new and traditional processes showed no difference.

CONCLUSIONThe selected membrane separation process can effectively achieve concentration and save energy. The extracts from Chuanxiong Chatiao granules by the new process show no difference with traditional processes. Therefore, it provides basis for the industrialized application of Chuanxiong Chatiao granules.

ABSTRACT

0.05).The sera of 90 patients were positive or negative detectedsimultaneously by RIA and ELISA,and the concordance rate of both methods was79.7%.The sera of 18 patients were positive detected by RIA and negative by ELISA,and the sera of 5 patients were positive detected by ELISA and negative by RIA,sothe inconsistent rate of both methods were 15.9%and 4.4% respectively.Based onthe literatures reviewed, the authors suggested that the causes of inconsistent resultsin various laboratories might be related to following factors,1.different sensitivitybetween various methods for deermination;2.the diffences between experimental conditions;3.the antigens used in the test from different species;4.the blood specimens collected at different period of the course.

ABSTRACT

A specific and sensitive radioimmunoprecipitation method was used to detect antibody against liver-specific membrane lipoprotein (LSP) in the sera of 182 patients with viral hepatitis, HBsAg chronic carriers and liver cirrhosis and 40 patients with other diseases as control. The results showed that the highest frequency of anti-LSP was noticed in the patients with severe hepatitis (15 out of 16 cases, 93.8%), and in the patients with chronic active hepatitis, acute viral hepatitis, chronic persistent hepatitis, cirrhosis and other diseases and in the HBsAg chronic carriers the incidences were 83.6%(41/49 cases), 66.2% (43/65), 63.6%(14/22), 55.0%(11/20), 5%(2/40) and 10%(1/10) respectively. The frequencies of anti-LSP in the patients with various types of viral hepatitis were significantly higher than those in the HBsAg chronic carriers and in the patients with other diseases (P

ABSTRACT

Antibodies against LSP in the sera of 168 patients with various types of viral hepatitis were determined with SPA-RIA. The sera of another group of 178 patients (109 of them were from the first group) with viral hepatitis were studied with ELISA for the same antibodies, which were further divided into three categories, that is, IgG, IgM and IgA classes. The results of 109 patients examined with both of the two methods, indicated that anti-LSP antibodies measured by SPA-RIA might mainly represent anti-LSP IgG class. It was found that circu-lating anti-LSP antibodies could easily be detected in most patients with either acute or chronic hepatitis. After analyzing the-results, the authors suggest that the humoral immune response against LSP might not be the sole initiating factor in the pathogenesis of viral hepatitis, they are more likely the result of the antigen variation of the injured liver cells.

ABSTRACT

In 161 cases of the lung cancer, serum values of CEA. CIC. ACE. CRP. IgE and ferritin were determined. It was found that their serum CEA. CIC. CRP and ferritin were higher, whereas serum ACE was lower than that of normal healthy subjeots and those suffering from benign pulmonary diseases. Serum CEA and CIC were distinctly lowered following surgical resection, radioor chemotherapy while the serum ACE activity was slightly elevated. Simultaneous determination of ferritin and CEA might increase the chance for detection of the lung cancer. The results of the study showed that determination of multiple indices are helpfui in the diagnosis, evaluation of the therapeutic response detection of relapse and prognosis of the lung cancer.
