ABSTRACT

Objective To investigate the diagnostic value of CT thin-section target reconstruction technique in patients with pulmonary small size groud glass nodules (sGGN).Methods A total of 109 patients with pulmonary sGGN certified post-operation and/or follow up were analyzed retrospectively, and the clinical and CT images of all patients were completely collected. There were 23 cases of benign group,21 cases of adenocarcinoma in situ group,29 cases of minimally invasive adenocarcinoma group and 36 cases of invasive adenocarcinoma group, respectively. The differential diagnostic value using CT thin-section target reconstruction technique was analyzed between the benign and malignant pulmonary sGGN groups, and the CT feature detection rates were compared between CT thin section target and common reconstruction techniques. Results The CT thin-section target reconstruction technique had improved the diagnostic efficiency of pulmonary sGGN.The diagnostic accuracy, area under curve(AUC),sensitivity and specificity were 85.32 %,0.679,90.80 %,63.64 % in malignant group and 77.06%,0.764,83.72%,52.17% in benign pulmonary sGGN group, respectively. The CT features as solid component in whole nodule,"halo sign",speculation sign, pleural retraction sign, lobulation sign were more detected by using the thin-section target reconstruction technique than that by using the common reconstruction among adenocarcinoma in situ group, minimally invasive adenocarcinoma group and invasive adenocarcinoma group (P<0.05) but not speculation sign in the invasive adenocarcinoma group(P=0.126).Conclusion The CT thin section target reconstruction technique can improve the diagnostic value of pulmonary sGGN.

ABSTRACT

Objective To investigate the effect and potential mechanism of levothyroxine combined with donepezil hydrochloride in adulthood hypothyroidism rats. Methods A total of 60 male SD rats was divided by random number table into group A,group B,group C and group D,15 rats in each group. The rats in group B,group,C and group D were treated with PLT to prepare hypothyroidism model, and group A was used as the control group. After successful preparation of the model, rats in group C and group D were injected intraperitoneally with levothyroxine(6 g/100 g) every day,and then group D was given another 0.005% donepezil in drinking water. After 2 weeks, the learning and memory behavior of rats was observed by Morris water maze;the levels of serum T3 and T4 were measured by radioimmunoassay;the expression of syntaxin-1 in hippocampus was detected by immunohistochemistry and Western blot. Results The escape latency and swimming distance of rats were prolonged significantly in group B but shorted significantly in group C and group D,and swimming speed was significantly slowed in group B but significantly strengthened in group C and group D;the levels of T3 and T4 were obviously decreased in group B but increased significantly in group C and group D,especially in group D.The results of immunohistochemistry and Western blot showed that the expression level of syntaxin-1 in hippocampus of rats was lower in group B compared to control group but increased significantly in both group C and group D.Conclusion Levothyroxine combined with donepezil hydrochloride can improve the learning and memory ability in adult rats with hypothyroidism, and its mechanism is related to the increase of expression of synaptotagmin-1 in hippocampus.

ABSTRACT

BACKGROUND: Belladonna drugs have been widely used in clinic in our country to improve microcirculation, or as a herbal anesthetic drug. However, there are few reports regarding the animal experiments on belladonna alkaloid against morphine addiction further OBJECTIVE: To observe the effects of belladonna alkaloid combined with morphine on morphine(Mor)-addicted mice so as to provide an experimental basis for development of belladonna to morphine addiction.DESIGN: A completely randomized-controlled study based on the experimental animals.SETTING: Laboratory of physiology of a medical college.MATERIALS: The study was performed at the Laboratory of Physiology of Medical Department of Hebei Engineering College from June 2004 to August 2004. Fifty 2-month old male healthy Kunming mice of clean grade with a body mass of(20±2) g were obtained from Experimental Animal Centre of Hebei Medical University.METHODS: According to evaluation index of dependence in Morphine-addicted animals, we chose pain threshold and naloxone-urged jumping response as items to observe. Fifty mice were randomly divided into 5 groups with 10 mice each, which were the control group (saline), the morphine group, the scopolamine(Sco)group, the anisodamine(Ani), atropine(Atr)group. The corresponding drugs or saline was administered by intraperitoneal (I. P.) injection once a day for 7 days. The pain threshold at 1 hour after I. P. Injection of drugs was observed from day 1 to day 7 by hot-plate method. Mice were given I.p. Injection of naloxone (Nal, 5 mg/kg ) 6hours after the last injection. The jumping times within 30 minutes were observed to evaluate the ,formation of the Morphine addiction.Nal-urged mice.RESULTS: The pain threshold of the mice in Morphine group was decreased significantly, and the jumping times and jumping rate were obviously increased compared with that of the control group( P < 0.05 or P < 0.01).The co-administration of Sco-Mor mixtures for 7 days significantly increased the pain threshold of Mor-dependent mice( P < 0.01) and markedly decreased the jumping times and the jumping rate( P < 0. 05) . Atr-Mor and Ani-Mor had a weak effect on the elevation of the pain threshold of Mor-dependent mice, but had strong effects on the decrease of the jumping times and the jumping rate( P < 0. 01 ).CONCLUSION: Belladonna alkaloids all could antagonize Mor-dependence in mice at different degrees, which provide an important experimental evidence to develop belladonna drugs for preventing opium addiction.
