ABSTRACT

The present is a report about 374 biopsies obteined by gastroscopy in the town of San Ramon. 83 porcent of these biopsies were made on patients betwen 40 and 84 years old. The conclusions are that the biopsies obtained by gastroscopy are generally made on patients above 40 years old. The most common diagnosis is chronic gastritis. Premalign changes were diagnosed in 28 porcent of the cases.
