ABSTRACT

Aim To study on the diuretic effect of a phenylphthalazines compound PU1424 and its influence on electrolyte balance, glucose and lipid metabolism, hepatic and renal functions. Methods Male Sprague Dawley rats were randomly divided into solvent control group,PU1424 treated group and HCTZ treated group.Urine was collected per 6 h and blood samples were collected at the end of drug administration.Urinary osmolality was measured by Freezing Point Osmometer;urea concentration was measured by Urea Detection Kit;ion level, blood glucose level, blood lipid level, hepatic and renal function were analyzed by Automatic Biochemical Analyzer. Results Compared to the solvent control group, and urine output of rats treated with PU1424 and HCTZ was increased as 1.52 times and 1.78 times and water intake increased as 1.42 times and 1.56 times respectively.Urine osmolalities were decreased as 61.5% and 50.4% of the control group, and urine urea concentration was decreased as 57.1% and 56.8% of the control group.Urinary electrolytes were decreased by administration of PU1424 and HCTZ compared to the intact plasma electrolytes. The blood glucose levels and blood lipid levels of rats treated with PU1424 had no changes, while the blood glucose and total cholesterol were increased by administration of HCTZ.The urea nitrogen, creatinine, alkaline phosphatase and total protein were intact by administration of PU1424 and HCTZ except the alanine/straw ration increased by HCTZ.Conclusion New diuretic candidate compound PU1424 displays significant diuretic effect with electrolyte balance, blood glucose level, blood lipid level, hepatic and renal function intact.

ABSTRACT

Objective To analyze the clinical correlation between EB virus-induced pharyngitis with gastrointestinal symptoms and mesenteric lymphadenitis in children , and to explore the value of EBV-VCA-IgM dectection and color Doppler ultrasound in the diagnosis of EB virus-induced mesenteric lymphadenitis. Methods 356 children with pharyngitis complicated by gastrointestinal symptoms were prospectively analyzed. 162 patients who had a postive result of EBV-VCA-IgM detection by ELISA were assigned to a study group , while another 194 patients who had a negative result were assigned to a control group. The size , number and blood flow of mesenteric lymph nodes were determined by color Doppler ultrasound in both groups. The data were counted , compared and analyzed. Results 43 children had mesenteric lymphadenitis in the study group , so had 11 in the control group. There was a significant difference between the two groups (P < 0.01). Conclusions Children with pharyngitis complicated by gastrointestinal symptoms may suffer from mesenteric lymphadenitis. ELISA for EBV-VCA-IgM detection and color Doppler ultrasound have certain clinical value in the diagnosis of mesenteric lymphadenitis indcued by EB virus infection.

ABSTRACT

Objective The aim of the experiment is to make an intracranial aneurysm model in canine. Methods A digital tube was made based on raw magnetic resonance images of the human intracraaial carotid artery. Then 6 tubes were made in the 3 D rapid prototyping machine and coated with silicone. Finally we isolated the common carotid arteries of 6 canines and made them go through the tubes and anastomosed them end-to-side to get the aneurysm model.Six stents were implanted after one week. Results Six aneurysm models were successfully made in canines. The parent artery had similar geometrv of the human carotid siphon. All the aneurysms and parent arteries were patent in one week's follow-up.One canine died of excessive anesthesia after stentingr Two vaseular models kept patent in one month without stenosis. The other 3 had some stenosis on the bends of the vessel. Conclusions The aneurysm model in tIle experiment has high flexibility and reliability. The model provides an effective tool for research and testing neurovascular devices. It's also a useful device to train the neuroradiologists and interventional physicians.
