ABSTRACT
Objective:To compare the masticatory efficiency of long-centric,semi-anatomical and cuspless occlusal complete den-tures.Methods:60 cases with flat or depressed residual ridges were randomly divided into 3 groups(n =20)and treated with long-centric,semi-anatomical and cuspless occlusal complete dentures, respectively. The masticatory efficiency was compared among 3 groups in different period(1,2,3 and 6 month)after wearing the dentures.SPSS 22.0 software package was used for data analysis. Results:There was no significant difference between long-centric occlusal and semi-anatomaical occlusal complete dentures(P >0.05)in 30 s chewing and for 40 times'chewing. The masticatory efficiency of the long-centric pattern was significantly higher than that of the cuspless pattern(P <0.05).Conclusion:Long centric occlusal complete denture can achieve satisfactory masticatory effi-ciency for edentulous patients with flat or depressed residual ridges.
