ABSTRACT

Objective:To investigate the relationship between substance addiction, T lymphocytes and depression in methamphetamine (MA) withdrawal patients. Methods:A total of 105 men who met the inclusion criteria were selected from compulsory isolation drug rehabilitation center of Baini lake, Hunan Province. All participants were suveyed by desires for drug questionnaire(DDQ) and self-rating depression scale (SDS), and the function of T lymphocyte subsets were detected by flow cytometry. All data were managed and analyzed using the SPSS 21.0 and AMOS 21.0 statistical software packages.Results:(1) The respondents were mainly junior high school or below (81.9%), unmarried and divorced (67.6%), unemployed (55.2%), hot suction (47.6%), and careless friends (32.4%), and 67.7% of MA abstinence had depressive symptoms. (2) SDS was positively correlated with desire and intention(DI), negative reinforcement (NR) and CD8+ %( r=0.408-0.897, all P<0.01), while negatively correlated with medication control, CD3+ %, CD4+ %, and CD4+ /CD8+ ( r=-0.792--0.263, all P<0.01). DI had significant positive correlation with CD8 + %( r=0.216, P<0.05), and negative correlation with CD4+ /CD8+ ( r=-0.217, P<0.05). NR had significant positive correlation with CD8 + %( r=0.259, P<0.05), and had significant negative correlations with CD3+ %, CD4+ %, and CD4+ /CD8+ ( r=-0.275-0.200, all P<0.05). Medication cotrol had a significant negative correlation with CD8+ %( r=-0.363, P<0.05), and significant positive correlations with CD4+ % and CD4+ /CD8+ ( r=0.288, 0.261, both P<0.05). (3)The model fitting index showed that DI, NR and medication control had significant direct effects on T lymphocyte subsets (all P<0.05). DI, medication control and T lymphocyte subsets had significant direct effects on self-evaluation of depressive symptoms (all P<0.05). NR, DI and medication control indirectly affected depressive symptoms through T lymphocyte subsets (all P<0.05). There were three path relationships: ① DI indirectly affected SDS via T lymphocyte subsets; ② Medication control indirectly affected SDS via T lymphocyte subsets; ③ NR indirectly affected SDS via T lymphocyte subsets. Conclusion:The structural equation model suggests that the degree of addiction in MA abstinence affecting depressive mood may be related to hypofunctional T lymphocyte subsets and provide methods for the prevention and treatment of drug addiction.

ABSTRACT

Objective:To investigate the effect of electroacupuncture Baliao points [bilateral Shangliao (BL 31), Ciliao (BL 32), Zhongliao (BL 33) and Xialiao (BL 34)] combined with conventional western medicine therapy on postoperative pain and wound recovery of mixed hemorrhoids patients. Methods:A total of 80 patients with mixed hemorrhoids who met the inclusion criteria in Nantong Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine from December 2017 to June 2020 were divided into 2 groups according to random number table method, with 40 patients in each group. The control group was treated with conventional western medicine therapy, and the observation group was treated with Baliao points electroacupuncture on the basis of the control group for 3 days. Postoperative pain was evaluated by VAS scale, pain duration, analgesic onset time, analgesic drug usage, wound healing time, nausea, vomiting and vertigo at 3 days after surgery were observed and recorded. Results:The VAS scores in the observation group were significantly lower than those in the control group at 12 hour and 1, 2,3 d postoperatively ( t=13.18, 13.71, 23.53 and 26.10, P<0.001). The duration of pain and the onset time of analgesia in the observation group were significantly shorter than those in the control group ( t=4.79, 7.54, 5.66, 15.60, P<0.001). The dosage of analgesic drugs in the observation group was significantly less than that in the control group at 48 and 72 h after operation ( t value 2.37 and 4.50, P<0.05 or P<0.01, respectively). The postoperative wound healing time [(26.58 ± 1.47) d vs. (35.75 ± 1.46) d, t=27.99] in the observation group was significantly earlier than that in the control group ( P<0.01), postoperative analgesic time [(7.10 ± 0.55) d vs. (11.32 ± 1.62) d, t=15.60] in the observation group were significantly earlier than those in the control group ( P<0.01). Conclusion:Electroacupuncture Baliao points can quickly reduce the postoperative pain, reduce the use of analgesic drugs, and speed up the postoperative recovery of patients with mixed hemorrhoids.

ABSTRACT

Objective To explore the clinical correlation of the variation of plasma homocysteine (HCY), melatonin (MLT) and ulceative colitis (UC). Methods The clinical data of 112 UC patients was collected, and 110 normal healthy persons as control. The level of plasma HCY and MLT was detected by high pressure liquid chromatography-fluorescence detection (HPLC-FD) method. The level of plasma folate ( FA) and vitamin B12 was detected by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) method. The correlation of these four indexes and UC was analyzed. Results The serum level of HCY in UC patients was significantly higher than that in normal healthy persons [(11. 27± 7.26) μmol/L vs (8. 19±4. 81) μmol/L, P = 0. 000]. The serum level of MLT in UC patients was significantly lower than that in normal healthy persons [(49. 06 + 31. 40) pg/ml vs (64. 28±41. 16) pg/ml,P=0. 008]. The serum level of FA in UC patients was significantly lower than that in normal healthy persons [(7. 64 + 1.95) nmol/L vs (9. 14 + 1.23) nmol/L, P = 0. 005]. The serum level of vitamin B12 in UC patients was significantly lower than that in normal healthy persons [(108. 64 ±32. 22) pmol/L vs (112. 64±33. 33) pmol/L, P = 0. 004]. There was no correlation between plasma HCY, MLT and UC disease activity degree, range, disease duration, erythrocyte sedimentation rate (ESR), or C reactive protein (CRP) in UC patients. There was no significant correlation between MLT and HCY in UC patients. Conclusions The serum level of HCY is higher in UC patients than that in normal control, and MLT is lower than that in normal control. However there is no significant correlation between them.
