Codependencia: una adicción o un patrón de relación inadecuado / Codependency: addiction or inadequate relationship pattern

La codependencia es un problema que afecta a cada vez más personas, siendo esta la que caracteriza frecuentes estados de insatisfacción y sufrimiento personal, donde la persona se encuentra enfocada en atender las necesidades de su pareja y/o de otras personas, sin tomar en cuenta las propias, a partir de una necesidad de que la conducta de otra persona se desarrolle desde las propias expectativas, al tiempo que se vive la imposibilidad de expresarlo de manera clara y asertiva en el día a día. Terapéuticamente esta problemática ha sido y sigue siendo motivo de consulta en contextos de rehabilitación y procesos de recuperación en adicciones, estando representada en la naturaleza de los vínculos que se establecen al interior de una familia o de una pareja. De ahí la importancia del abordaje terapéutico de la red de apoyo del adicto, ya que esta tiende a considerar la adicción como un asunto único de la persona en rehabilitación. Desde hace algo más de 20 años, este tema ha sido motivo de investigación de terapeutas, psicólogos, psiquiatras y consejeros, quienes han propiciado discusiones a la luz de establecer un concepto de codependencia y qué elementos de esta merecen la pena tener en cuenta al momento de establecer líneas o planes de tratamientos para las personas que sufren esta condición

Codependency is a problem that affects more and more people, being this the one that characterizes frequent states of dissatisfaction and personal suffering, where the person is focused on meeting the needs of their partner and / or other people, without taking into account their own, from a need for the behavior of another person to develop from their own expectations, while experiencing the impossibility of expressing it clearly and assertively on a day-to-day basis. Therapeutically, this problem has been and continues to be a reason for consultation in the context of rehabilitation and recovery processes in addictions, being represented in the nature of the bonds that are established within a family or a couple. Hence the importance of the therapeutic approach of the addict's support network, since it tends to consider addiction as a unique issue for the person in rehabilitation. For a little over 20 years, this topic has been the subject of research by therapists, psychologists, psychiatrists and counselors, who have fostered discussions in the light of establishing a concept of codependency and what elements of it are worth taking into account at the time of establish treatment lines or plans for people who suffer from this condition

Psiquiatria y biopolítica en el escenario de la guerra: comprender el conflicto para construir el post conflicto / Psychiatry and Biopolitics in context of war: Understanding conflict to build the post-conflict

El objetivo de este documento es hacer una revisión sobre la psiquiatría y la biopolítica en el escenario de la guerra, considerando que es precisamente en el contexto de la guerra donde se genera el mayor número de alteraciones del comportamiento y conductas desviadas. Partiendo para ello, ya no de lo psicopatológico, sino del comportamiento mismo y de los planteamientos de Michel Foucault en lo que respecta a las relaciones de poder, de tal manera que permita introducir al lector en una nueva perspectiva de pensamiento y comprensión de los elementos que han llevado al mantenimiento de los patrones de comportamiento violento y de la guerra misma. Se intenta hacer una aproximación diferente en la que se propone que la psiquiatría participe activamente en la comprensión y mitigación de los esquemas de violencia tan arraigados y que han contribuido a la perpetuación de la guerra en la sociedad moderna. Considerando que los abordajes tradicionales que llevan a dejar el comportamiento humano y la enfermedad mental representada solo en un código de enfermedades (CIE/DSM) es insuficientes para comprender todos los factores que la influencian. Se trata pues de inducir al lector a la reflexión a través de ejemplos que permiten visualizar en casos hipotéticos los elementos de la biopolítica que influyen en el comportamiento, y el papel de las relaciones de poder en la dinámica de las poblaciones, en especial aquellas que han crecido en circunstancias de vulnerabilidad y violencia. Evidenciando como la psiquiatría se enfrenta a los elementos planteados por la biopolítica, siendo necesario su comprensión para poder modificar los esquemas de comportamiento tan arraigados y que han contribuido a establecer los patrones de comportamiento que llevan al mantenimiento de la violencia y de la guerra misma. Se trata de repensar el comportamiento humano como una consecuencia de un contexto cultural y biopolítico que determina en el individuo una forma de actuar, que sin importar el momento de la historia ni el lugar donde se encuentre, se establece como su forma habitual de comportarse en la lucha por la supervivencia.

The purpose of this document is to present a review on biopolitics and psychiatry in the context of war, considering that this is where the greatest number of altered and deviant behaviours is generated. Along this line, as it is not about the psychopathology, but of its behaviour, of the approaches of Michel Foucault as regards the relationships of power, as such that it allows introducing the reader to a new perspective of thinking and understanding of the elements that have given rise to the maintenance of violent behaviour patterns and of the war itself. It tries to show the reader a different approach in which it is proposed that psychiatry can be actively involved in mitigation of all those schemes that ingrained the violence that have contributed to the perpetuation of war in modern society. Considering traditional approaches created to define human behaviour and mental illness only represented by a Disease code (ICD/DSM) are not sufficient to understand them. It induces the reader to reflect using practical examples that allows them to visualize, through a hypothetical scenario, elements of biopolitics that influence the behaviour, and the role of power relationships in the dynamics of population, particularly those who have grown up in circumstances of vulnerability and violence, and showing how psychiatry faces the points raised by biopolitics. That is why understanding this topic is necessary to help change behaviour and those patterns that help maintain behaviours that lead to violence and war itself. It is about re-thinking human behaviour as a result of a cultural and bio-political context that determines in the individual a way of acting, that regardless of the point in history or the place where you are, it is established as their usually form of behaviour in the struggle to survival.
