Estrategia con enfoque comunitario para prevenir los factores de riesgo de muerte súbita: [revisión] / Community-focused strategy to prevent risk factors for sudden death: [review]

Se realizó una revisión bibliográfica con el objetivo fundamental de brindar una información actualizada, así como identificar los factores de riesgo de muerte súbita, precisar los síntomas premonitorios que constituyen la expresión de una descompensación aguda del corazón y analizar las causas de muerte súbita como expresión de complicaciones en las enfermedades asociadas. Todos los datos obtenidos se compararon con la literatura nacional e internacional actualizada lo que permitió llegar a las conclusiones.

A literature review was carried out with the aim of offering an updated information, as well as identify the risk factors of sudden death, to specify the premonitory symptoms that constitute the expression of acute decompensated heart, and to analyze the sudden death causes in token of complications in the diseases correlated, all data were compared with the national and international updated literature, which allowed to reach conclusions.

Latrodectismo: presentación de cuatro casos / Poisoning by Latrodectus: a four case presentation

Se presentan cuatro casos bien documentados de intoxicación por mordedura de araña “Viuda Negra” (Latrodectus sp) en los que se captura la araña agresora. Se describen las características clínicas y resultados de laboratorio en cada uno de los casos, comparándolos entre sí y con lo reportado por la literatura. Los sitios geográficos en que ocurrieron los ataques estaban bien distantes entre sí, aunque todos dentro de la provincia. Los cuadros de latrodectismo que reportamos se corresponden con las características generales que para dicha circunstancia describen los autores consultados, excepto el hecho, que encontramos en tres de nuestros casos, de que la mordedura no fue dolorosa en ellos desde el inicio del ataque y este hecho, no reportado en la literatura, eventualmente dificultó el diagnóstico de aracnoidismo. Al parecer la circunstancia de Latrodectismo está subregistrada en la provincia y presumiblemente en el país. Las arañas fueron clasificadas como L. mactans, por organismos autorizados y llama la atención la tipicidad de los cuadros de envenenamiento, toda vez que es idea generalizada que Latrodectus sp, no es particularmente tóxico en la biota insular cubana.

Four well-documented cases of poisoning by the bite of black widow spider of the genus, (Lactrodectus sp.), in which the spider was captured are presented. The clinical characteristics and laboratory results in each of the cases are described, comparing them to each other and with the reports in literature. The geographic sites in which the attacks happened were well distant to each other, although all within the province. The clinical pictures of latrodectus cases that we report correspond to general characteristics of the circumstances described by the consulted authors, except the fact found in three of all four cases, that the bite was not painful to them since the beginning of the attack and this fact, not reported in literature, possibly made difficult the diagnosis. Apparently, the circumstance of lactrodectus is under-registered in the province and presumably in the country; the spiders were classified as L. mactans by authorized organizations and calls the attention the types of poisoning cases, the generalized idea is that Latrodectus sp. is not particularly toxic in the biotics of the Cuban island.
