ABSTRACT

The case mentioned may be an example of an infection due to B. alcaligenes fecalis. The organism isolated was studied and found to be "consistent with Bacterium alcaligenes fecalis" although this organism is rarely a causative agent of infectionWhile the lymphatic enlargement may have contributed to the clinical condition, the toxic symptoms and fever shows that the process comes from the contaminating bacilli in the circulating blood.
