ABSTRACT

Objective:To understand the current research status of master of professional degree students in clinical medicine in provincial teaching hospitals with moderate scientific research level under the " dual-track" training system. Methods:Sojump online survey was conducted to investigate the cognition, current situation and self-evaluation of all clinical master degree students in three grades in a provincial teaching hospital, and the research status of professional degree and scientific degree students was compared and analyzed respectively. Results:The proportion of scientific degree students participating in scientific research projects was significantly higher than that of professional degree students. The proportion of professional degree students participating in scientific research projects was still not high even in the third year of graduate students. However, there was no difference between scientific degree and professional degree students in the publication of scientific research papers. The scientific degree of scientific research knowledge is significantly higher than that of professional degree students. Although scientific degree students receive more scientific research guidance from their supervisors, professional degree students communicate more with their supervisors, and the results show that professional degree students are significantly more satisfied with their supervisors, graduate policies and scientific research policies than scientific degree students. In addition, the results of graduate students found that the degree of research stress of both scientific and professional degrees exceeded 50%.Conclusions:Scientific degree is better than professional degree in research status because of professional characteristics and more research guidance from their supervisors. However, through the reform of professional degree training mode based on scientific research project management in recent years, professional degree students have been able to communicate more with their supervisors, and their satisfaction with their supervisors and colleges has significantly increased. In addition, sufficient attention should be paid to high scientific research pressure of medical graduate students.

ABSTRACT

The outbreak of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) has spread rapidly around the world. As of May 30, 2020, a total of 84 568 confirmed COVID-19 cases have been recorded in China, with a mortality rate of approximately 5.5%. Taizhou is a prefecture-level city in Zhejiang Province. A total of 146 cases were diagnosed in this epidemic, with a fatality rate of 0%. This condition is due to the establishment of an "Internet +" diagnosis and treatment model based on online medical application (APP), telemedicine, WeChat service, and consultation hotline in Taizhou. Taizhou led in opening the "COVID-19 Prevention and Treatment Special Line" in China, which is conducive to pre-hospital screening, suppressing social panic, and clinical support. Hospitals also carried out related online lectures and popularization of science. We summarize Taizhou's COVID-19 prevention and control experience with telemedicine features, with a view to providing reference for the control of the epidemic at home and abroad.

ABSTRACT

Studies examining the trends in public trust in physicians have provided a considerable amount of valuable policy implications for policymakers compared with cross-sectional studies on this topic in many countries. This study investigated changes in public trust in physicians in China based on two cross-sectional national surveys conducted in 2011 and 2016 and identified the determinants of these changes. The results indicated 83.4% of respondents in 2011 reported trust or strong trust in physicians in China, which decreased to 64.2% by 2016. The results of ordinal logistic regression demonstrated that public trust in physicians in China had decreased significantly from 2011 to 2016 (P< 0.001) after adjusting for other independent variables. Self-reported health status, self-rated happiness, and self-identified social class were all associated positively with public trust in physicians in China. The results also confirmed that decreasing public satisfaction with the most recent treatment experience was the major determinant of decreasing public trust in physicians in China. The findings of this study suggest that decreasing public trust in physicians deserves considerable attention from national policymakers and that improving satisfaction with treatment experiences would be the most effective strategy for enhancing public trust in physicians in China.

ABSTRACT

Reforms in public hospitals are among the most important improvements in China's health care system over the last two decades. However, the reforms that should be implemented in public hospitals are unclear. Thus, a feasible direction of reforms in Chinese public hospitals is suggested and reliable policy suggestions are provided for the government to reform public hospitals. The data used in this study were mainly derived from a qualitative study. Focus group discussions and in-depth interviews were conducted in Shanghai, Guangdong, and Gansu between May and December 2014. Government funding accounted for approximately eight percent of the total annual revenue of public hospitals in China, and the insufficient government subsidy considerably affects the operation mechanism of public hospitals. However, solely increasing this subsidy cannot address the inappropriate incentives of public hospitals in China. The most crucial step in setting the direction of reforms in public hospitals in China is transforming inappropriate incentives by implementing a new evaluation index system for directors and physicians in public hospitals.

ABSTRACT

The paper analyzed the internal causes of the corruption risk control mechanism at public hospitals in China. Based on the current development of such mechanism, the authors proposed such measures as pre-warning, intermediate supervision and follow-up actions against the corruption risk exposure commonly found at such hospitals. These efforts aim at further improvement of the corruption risk control of the hospitals.

ABSTRACT

Aim To explore the effect of pemetrexed on autophagy and the function of autohpagy activation in A549 cells. Methods The anti-proliferative effect of pemetrexed on A549 cells was detected by MTS. The formation of autophagosome was observed by trans-mission electron microscopy (TEM)and the expression of autophagy-related proteins was determined by West-ern blot. The inhibitory effects of the combination of pemetrexed and a selective autophagy inhibitor on A549 cells were measured by MTS.Results Peme-trexed inhibited the proliferation of A549 cells.Auto-phagy was activated in A549 cells by exposure to pemtrexed.Autophagosome was increased in peme-trexed treatment cells compared with control group. Pemtrexed treatment led to the formation of autophago-some and the conversion of LC3-Ⅰto LC3-Ⅱ.The in-crease of Beclin-1 and the decline of autophagy sub-strate of p62 were observed in pemtrexed treated A549 cells. The pharmacological autophagy inhibitor chloro-quine (CQ)sensitized A549 cells to pemetrexed treat-ment.The inhibitory rate was (28.42 ±2.45 )% for pemetrexed only, and (45 .36 ±3.52 )% for peme-trexed combined with CQ.Conclusions Pemetrexed could activate autophagy in A549 cell lines. The dis-ruption of autophagy facilitates the anti-proliferative effect of pemetrexed on A549 cells, which provides a novel strategy in lung cancer treatment.

ABSTRACT

Objective To study how to reduce the complication rate of laparoscopic cholecystectomy (LC) for acute cholecystitis. Methods A retrospective analysis was made on clinical data of 158 cases of acute cholecystitis treated by LC from September 2001 to December 2003. Results Operations were accomplished laparoscopically in 151 cases, while conversions to open surgery were required in 7 cases (1 case of Mirizzi’s syndrome, 2 cases of gallbladder carcinoma, 1 case of cholecystoduodenal fistula, 2 cases of "ice-like" adhesions in the Calot triangle, and 1 case of common bile duct stones). Open re-exploration was performed in 1 case because of biliary leakage. Intraoperative cholangiography (IOC) was successfully conducted in 10 cases, 3 of which were found common bile duct stones. Out of the 3 cases, 2 cases underwent an intraoperative endoscopic sphincterotomy and 1 received a conversion to open choledochotomy with T-tube drainage. Conclusions When utilizing LC for acute cholecystitis, the rate of conversion and the incidence of complication may be reduced as long as the patients were properly selected, the principles of safety were abided by, and the intraoperative cholangiography was performed routinely.
