Mechanism of catgut embedding at back- points for nonalcoholic steatohepatitis based on IKK/IKB/NF-κB signaling pathway / 中国针灸

OBJECTIVE@#To explore the mechanism of catgut embedding at back- points on nonalcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH) in rats based on IKK/IKB/NF-κB signaling pathway and downstream inflammatory factors.@*METHODS@#Eighty SPF SD rats were selected, among them 10 rats were selected divided into a normal group (group A), and the remaining 70 rats were fed with high-fat diet to establish NASH model. At the end of 12 weeks, 10 rats were randomly selected to verify whether the model establishment was successful. Then the remaining 60 rats were randomly divided into a model group (group B), a catgut embedding at back- points group (group C), a catgut embedding at abdominal points group (group D), an acupuncture at back- points group (group E), a sham catgut embedding group (group F) and a western medication group (group G), 10 rats in each group. The rats in the group C were treated with catgut embedding at "Ganshu" (BL 18), "Pishu" (BL 20), "Weishu" (BL 21) and "Shenshu" (BL 23); the rats in the group D were treated with catgut embedding at "Daheng" (SP 15), "Fujie" (SP 14), "Huaroumen" (ST 24) and "Tianshu" (ST 25); the rats in the group E were treated with acupuncture at the same acupoints as the group C; the rats in the group F were treated with catgut embedding at back- points but the needle did not enter subcutaneous tissue gamma; the rats in the group G were treated with intragastric administration of vitamin E capsule. All the treatment was given for 4 weeks. The rats in the group A were fed with normal diet until the end of 16 weeks without any intervention. The rats in the group B continued to be fed with high-fat diet until the end of 16 weeks. After the intervention, the liver index was calculated; the liver histomorphology was observed by HE staining; the liver function [alanine aminotransferase (ALT), gamma glutamyl transferase (γ-GGT), alkaline phosphatase (ALP)] and blood lipid [serum total cholesterol (TC), triglyceride (TG), low density lipoprotein (LDL)] were measured by serum biochemistry. The serum levels of TNF-α, IL-6 and IL-1βwere detected by ELISA, and the expressions of IKK-α, NF-κBp65, IL-6, IL-1β and TNF-α proteins in liver tissue were detected by Western blot. The temperature of the conception vessel and the governor vessel was measured by infrared thermography.@*RESULTS@#Compared with the group A, the obvious steatosis and inflammatory cell infiltration were observed in the group B, and the body weight, liver wet-weight and liver index were all increased (0.05), while the temperature of the governor vessel in the group C was superior to that in the group D (<0.05).@*CONCLUSION@#The catgut embedding at back- points might inhibit the activation of IKK/IKB/NF-κB signaling pathway to interrupt the inflammatory cascade, and reduce the "second hit" of inflammatory factors on liver, which could slow down NASH progress and prevent and treat NASH.

Clinical characteristics in juvenile gout patients / 中华全科医师杂志

To analyze the clinical characteristics of juvenile gout,101 gout patients in Affiliasted First Hospital of Wanan Medical College from 2016 January to Decemder were divided into juvenile group (≤ 20 years,n=41) and adult group (＞20 years,n=60),the clinical data and related biochemical tests were collected.The body mass index (BMI),fasting blood glucose (FBG),TC,TG,uric acid,urea nitrogen,creatinine,cystatin C,glomerular filtration rate (GFR) and C-reactive protein (CRP),the first gout position,the duration of disease,the family history,the number of involved joints and the tophi were compared between two groups.Compared with the adult group,the juvenile group had significantly higher BMI [(25.6± 1.3) vs.(22.8± 1.0),t=-12.51)],TC [(5.55±0.51) vs.(5.07±0.54),t=-4.44),TG [(2.04±0.32) vs.(1.83±0.39),t=-2.92),uric acid[606.0 (541.0,641.0) vs.502.5 (447.5,542.2),Z=-5.65land C-reactive protein[68.0(57.0,83.5) vs.46.0 (36.0,59.8),Z=-4.64],while lower FBG [(4.83±0.68) vs.(5.74± 1.23),t=4.31)] and the number of involved joints[1(1,1) vs.2(1,4),Z=5.45].The GFR was higher in the juvenile group [(140.4± 31.0) vs.(77.7±22.5),t=-ll.81,P＜0.001)],while the urea nitrogen [6.3 (5.8,6.9) vs.7.6 (6.8,8.4),Z=5.89],creatinine [65.1 (56.2,75.1) vs.87.4 (78.5,98.4),Z=7.18] and cystatin C[1.0(0.9,1.1) vs.1.9(1.5,2.0),Z=7.66]were lower than those in adult group(all P＜0.01).The incidence of the first metatarsophalangeal joint involvement and the ankle joint involvement had no statistical difference between two groups (x2=3.434,P＞0.05).The proportion of family history of gout was higher in juvenile group (x2=6.174,P＜0.05)but the proportion of tophi was lower (x2=16.564,P＜0.01) than those in adult group.The characteristics of juvenile gout are significantly different with those of adult gout patients,so the juvenile patients should be managed differently from the adult patients.

Comprehensive analysis on variation of cardiac enzyme and troponin induced by acute organophosphorous poisoning / 中华劳动卫生职业病杂志

<p><b>OBJECTIVE</b>To discuss the diagnostic value of cardiac enzyme and troponin in acute organophosphorus pesticide poisoning (AOPP).</p><p><b>METHODS</b>A retrospective study was performed in the document published in domestic journals and PubMed from 1979 to 2010. The data of the cardiac enzyme and troponin were collected. Statistical analysis was conducted with one-way ANOVA and rank sum test. 2129 cases with AOPP were enrolled.</p><p><b>RESULTS</b>The levels of creatine kinase (CK), creatine kinase-MB (CK-MB) and cardiac troponin I (cTnI) in milder, moderate and severe poisoning groups were significantly elevated compared by the healthy control group (P < 0.05). The differences were also dramatic among three patients groups (P < 0.05). The ratios of CK-MB to CK in both moderate and severe groups were significantly lower than in healthy controls (P < 0.05). The levels of CK, CK-MB and cTnI were higher especially in patients with intermediate myasthenic syndrome (IMS) than patients without IMS. Meanwhile, the levels of CK and CK-MB were elevated in patients with respiratory failure compared by non-failure ones, but decreased in the ratios of CK-MB to CK (P < 0.05).</p><p><b>CONCLUSIONS</b>The elevation of CK and CK-MB in serum could not be judged as the criteria of myocardial damage in AOPP, the ratio of CK-MB to CK were more valuable; the value of cTnI in myocardial damage was still in suspect. CK, CK-MB and cTnI could be used as auxiliary criteria of AOPP classification.</p>

The significance of serum concentrations of transforming growth factor-β1 and bone morphogenetic protein-4 in patients with rheumatoid arthritis and interstitial lung disease / 中华风湿病学杂志

Objective To compare the serum levels of transforming growth factor (TGF)-beta 1,bone morphogenetic protein (BMP)-4 in patients with rheumatoid arthritis (RA) and RA with interstitial lung disease (RA-ILD).Methods Twenty-eight RA-ILD patients,32 patients with RA but without ILD and 20 normal controls were enrolled.The RA-ILD group was further divided into early group and late group.All the observed subjects were analyzed using enzyme linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) for the determination of serum TGF-β1 and BMP-4 levels.The relationship between the serum levels of TGF-β1,BMP-4 and laboratory examinations were investigated.Comparisions between groups were tested by one-way ANOVA analysis and ttest.Correlation of indexs were observed by Spearman method.Results Patients in the RA-ILD group were older than RA group in disease onset age,in addition,patients with ILD had better joint function and higher serum rheumatoid factor titers.The occurrence time of interstitial lung disease was 2-6 years after the onset of arthritis,with an average time of (3.0±1.2) years.The TGF-β1 levels in the RA-ILD group were slightly higher,but not statistically significant than other groups (P＞0.05).The TGF-β1 serum levels in the early RA-ILD patients were significantly increased than those of the late RA-ILD group and the RA group.BMP-4 levels in patients with RA-ILD group were less than RA without ILD group and healthy control group,and the difference was statistically significant (P＜0.05).BMP-4 level in early RA-ILD group was significantly decreased than those of the late RA-ILD group and RA group.No correlation between the serum BMP-4,TGF-β1 level (P＞0.05) no assay result correlated with laboratory parameters including ESR,CRP,RF and anti-CCP antibodies (P＞0.05).Conclusion TGF-β1 serum levels are increased and BMP-4 levels are decreased in early RA-ILD patients.The serum levels of TGF-β1 and BMP-4 may be indicatior for asymptomatic ILD and reflect disease progression.

Contribution to the study on anatomical characteristics of renal nervous plexus at Vietnamese adults

Background: Up to now, there are quite number of studies on the origin and role of the nervous apparatus in controlling the kidney. However, in some articles, the authors do not fully highlight the anatomic morphology of renal nervous plexus and providing the rule of structure and distribution of the cell\u2019s components, nerve fibers in the nervous plexus. Objective: A study on the anatomical characteristics of renal nervous plexus of Vietnamese adults. Subject and methods: Based on the anatomical study by macroscopic and microscopic dissection with the micro MBC-2 on nervous plexus of 60 renal pedicles of adults at the age of 18-70 years. Results and Conclusion: The structure of renal nervous plexus is very complex. This plexus is formed by many nerve fibers and pedicles and is widely connected with perirenal nervous tissue. Beside, it has also the close connection between left and right plexus for the guarantee of nervous distribution with bilateral replacement. Thick concentrations of renal nervous plexus is not only at the renal sinus region, but also at the renal hilum, where the distribution of renal arterial branches. There are many nervous ganglion tissues in the renal nervous plexus. These ganglia are smaller than from aortorenal ganglion to intrasinual ganglion.

Some factors related to knowledge and practice on the reproductive health of women aged 15-49 years at Bach Thong district-Bac Kan province \r\n', u'\r\n', u'

Background: Bach Thong, a mountainous district has large terrain withouta local district hospital. The commune health stations are newly built or upgraded and with added equipments, however this still does not reach national standards. The knowledge and practices in reproductive health care and population planning for families are still inadequate. Objectives: To discover various factors related to the reproductive health of women from 15 to 49 years old in Bach Thong district, Bac Kan province. Subjects and method: A descriptive, cross sectional study assesses the situation of knowledge and practice on the reproductive health of 15-49 age women at Bach Thong district, Bac Kan province in March, 2006. Results:Mass media were related to the context of pregnancy examinations, behavior of short interval of between births, having numerous children for women in the researched area. Women literacy level was related to awareness on negative affects of giving birth to over 3 children and at a young age. Household's income was related to the options of birth control method. Conclusion: It is recommended that the authorities, health service offices, population-family and children sectors need to enhance the primary health care as well as health care for women.
