ABSTRACT

Objective:To investigate the effect of the Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) intervention on the pregnancy outcomes of patients with a history of spontaneous abortion due to kidney deficiency syndrome. Methods:From February 2015 to July 2020, 41 patients with a history of spontaneous abortion due to kidney deficiency in our hospital were selected as the observation group, and 42 healthy pregnant women with no history of spontaneous abortion were selected as the control group. The observation group was treated with the TCM sequential intervention therapy with treatment principles of nourishing the kidney and promoting blood circulation before pregnancy and solidifying the kidney and tonifying after pregnancy, while the control group received no TCM intervention before and after pregnancy. Color Doppler ultrasonography was used to record the follicle diameter, endometrial thickness and shape during pregnancy, and B-ultrasound was used to monitor the NT value at 12 weeks. The serum D-dimer level was detected by ELISA, and the serum progesterone ,estradiol, human chorionic gonadotropin (HCG) levels were detected by radioimmunoassay. The conditions of term delivery, premature delivery and abortion were observed in both groups, and the successful delivery rate and term delivery rate were compared. Results:On the 30+, 40+, and 50+ days of pregnancy, there was no significant difference in serum progesterone, estradiol, and HCG levels between the two groups ( P>0.05). There was no significant difference in NT value between the two groups at 12 weeks of gestation ( P>0.05). The successful delivery rate of the observation group was 90.2% (37/41), the full-term delivery rate was 85.4% (35/41), the successful delivery rate of the control group was 100.0% (42/42), and the full-term delivery rate was 95.2% (40/42), there was no significant difference in the successful delivery rate and term delivery rate between the two groups ( P>0.05). Conclusion:The sequential intervention of TCM the principle of invigorating kidney and promoting blood circulation before pregnancy and strengthening kidney and calming fetus after pregnancy can improve the pregnancy outcome of spontaneous abortion patients with kidney deficiency syndrome.

ABSTRACT

U.rhynchophylla is an important herb in Chinese medical treasure with the functions of calming endogenous wind and arresting convulsion, clearing away heat and calming the liver, for the treatments of hypertension, epilepsy and convulsion, crying with fear in children. This paper retrieved and collated 3,304 items of application information in the invention patents over uncaria before July,2016.Data of the basic sciences were collected from Chinese Science Citation Database (CSCD) and those of situation analysis of patents from Patent Online Analysis System of Chinese Academy of Sciences.Year, region, patented technology, patentee and key technology were involved and analyzed in the system for profound investigation of the current situation and developing trend of invention patent application over uncaria. It was found that trace elements and chemical composition beneficial to human health were receiving favors from the market with rapt attention focusing on patent applications. However, there were still major limitations in the application and the patent quality needed improving. In conclusion, further development and the utilization of uncaria presented promising prospects.

ABSTRACT

OBJECTIVETo study the chemical constituents of Periploca forrestii.

METHODThe constituents were separate using such various column chromatographic techniques as silica gel, RP-18 silica gel, MCI and Sephadex LH-20. Their structures were identified by such methods as spectral analysis.

RESULTTen compounds were isolated and identified as periforgenin A-3-O-beta-digitoxopyranoside (1), beta-sitosterol (2), periforoside I (3), ursolic acid (4), periplogenin (5), periplocin (6), glycoside E (7), periplocoside M (8) , daucosterol (9), 2alpha, 3alpha, 23-trihydroxy-urs-12-en-28-oic acid (10).

CONCLUSIONCompound 1 was a new cardiac glycoside and compound 8 was reported for the first time from this plant.

ABSTRACT

OBJECTIVETo extract and identify the chemical constituents of essential oil from Lonicera fulvotomentosa in different collected periods (bud, Silver-flower and Golden-flower periods).

METHODExtracts in three different collected periods were subjected to GC-MS analysis for determination of their chemical constituents.

RESULTThe 29, 34 and 28 kinds of chemical constituents corresponding to the above three periods were found, and 44 kinds of compounds were identified. The relative content of every chemical constituents in each essential oil was obtained by area normalization method.

CONCLUSIONThe O-tolyl isocyanide was detected from essential oil of Lonicera for the first time. The result indicated that the highest relative content in essential oil in the three periods is alcohol substance and the second is ester and aldehyde. Many common constituents in the essential oil from L. fulvotomentosa, including linalool, hyacinthin, O-tolyl isocyanide, geraniol, methyl anthranilate, and so on, all could be detected in the three periods. However, the differences of their relative content are obvious.

ABSTRACT

OBJECTIVETo characterize the structure of polysaccharide LTC-II obtained from Pyrola corbieri.

METHODThe polysaccharide was extracted from P. corbieri by hot water and ethanol precipitation. Crude polysaccharide was purified by DEAE-Cellulose chromatography and Sephacryl S-300 HR column chromatography. The purity and molecular weight of polysaccharide was determined by gel permeation chromatography. UV, IR, optical rotation, complete acid hydrolysis, periodate oxydation, Smith degradation, partial acid hydrolysis and methylation analysis were applied to determine the structural features.

RESULTA homogeneous fraction LTC-II was obtained and its relative molecular mass was 22 000 Da. It consisted of arabinose, mannose, glucose, galactose in the molar ratio of 35. 2: 1.0: 13. 4: 4. 2. LTC-II had a backbone consisting glucose, mannose, galactose and mainly contained (1 --> 6)-linkaged glucose. The side chain possessed arabinose, glucose, galactose and mainly contained (1 --> 5)-linkaged arabinose. The terminal sugar were mainly glucose and galactose.

CONCLUSIONStudies on the preliminary characterization of polysaccharide LTC-II from P. corbieri for the first time.
