ABSTRACT

El autor trata de ordenar distintos conceptos sobre los patrones motivacionales y la psicología de las pacientes que consultan por plásticas mamarias. En la introducción al tema se realizan consideraciones con respecto a que la mujer desde su nacimiento y durante el curso de su vida acumula percepciones externas e internas en relación a la mama. Se describe cómo históricamente los ideales de belleza han ido cambiando por la influencia del medio y de la moda. Se consideran las motivaciones de las mujeres que consultan por cirugía mamaria estética y de reconstrucción

ABSTRACT

In the principle that when breast reconstruction es being planned, the surgeons must evaluate the adequacy of skin cover, the presence of the pectoralis muscles, the anterior axillary fold and also the proposed breast mound and the simmetry with the opposite breast, that must be consider; the author presents his experience in post-mastectomy reconstruction, reports different cases of post-mastectomy defects and discuss about the surgical technique used in the reconstruction for each case. Then emphasized the development of success-ful and reliable alternative techniques of breast reconstruction that have been performed selected group of patients
