ABSTRACT
O objetivo do presente trabalho foi avaliar a associação entre os fatores ambientais, temperaturas máxima e mínima, e as características físicas e morfológicas do ejaculado. Cinco touros Holandês Preto Branco (HPB), cinco Nelore e quatro Gir foram submetidos a colheitas quinzenais do sêmen, por meio de eletroejaculação, de janeiro a agosto de 1003. Houve correlações (p<0,05) entre temperaturas máxima e mínima e defeitos maiores, menores, totais, motilidade e vigor nas raças HPB e Gir sugerindo que nas condições do estudo o processo de espermatogênese dessas raças foi afetado. A raça Nelore não apresentou correlações significativas com nenhuma das características estudadas, o que demonstra sua adptabilidade à região em estudo.
Fourteen bulls from the breeds Holstein, Nelore and Gir have been submitted to each other week collects of semen, by eletroejaculation method, from January to August of 2003. The objective was to evaluate possible association among environmental temperature (maximum and minimum) and the physical and morphological characteristics of semen. There were observed correlation (p<0,05) among maximum and minimum temperature and sperm defects (major, minor and total), motility and vigor of in bulls from Holstein and Gir breeds, suggesting that spermatogenesis process was affected (in present conditions). Bulls from Nelore breed differed from the others, in all studied characteristics, demonstrating adaptability to the dield conditions.
