ABSTRACT

Objective@#To understand the current situation and influencing factors of coping capacity in public health emergencies among college students in Shandong Province, and to provide reference for public health emergencies responses.@*Methods@#Using stratified random sampling method, 7 719 students from 6 colleges and universities in Shandong Province were selected and investigated with self designed questionnaire from April to May 2020. Multiple linear regression was used to analyze the influencing factors of coping capacity in public health emergencies.@*Results@#The overall coping capacity of college students in Shandong Province to public health emergencies scored (46.22±8.47), with dimension from high to low being personal prevention before the event (15.65±2.75), post event cooperation and disposal (15.18±3.08), incident personal precaution (15.01±3.23). Multiple linear regression showed that gender, major, only child, parental education level, knowledge of public health emergencies, emergency drill exercises, and health education for public health emergencies were associated with coping capacity among college students in public health emergencies ( B =-1.53, -1.78, -2.08, 0.60, 0.81, 1.11, 1.38, 0.78, 1.65, 1.86, 9.14, 2.00, 2.62, P <0.05).@*Conclusion@#The overall coping capacity in public health emergencies among college students in Shandong is at a good level, but still needs to be improved through strengthening emergency education and family support.

ABSTRACT

This study aimed to clarify the microbial diversity, dominant species and the change of community structures in the fermentation of Liushenqu(Massa Medicata Fermentata), and explore the material foundation of its pharmacodynamics effect. On the basis of standardizing the fermentation process, Massa Medicata Fermentata was prepared by screening and optimizing the recipes and the standard formula issued by the Ministry. The community structure and growth process of fungi and bacteria in the samples at five time points(0, 17, 41, 48, 65 h) in the fermentation process of Massa Medicata Fermentata were analyzed by using isolation and culture of eight different media and high-throughput DNA sequencing technology. The results indicated that the samples of the two recipes pre-sented high microbial diversity at the initial fermentation stage, with Aspergillus spp. as the dominant species. As the fermentation process goes forward, Saccharomycopsis fibuligera and Rhizopus oryzae soon became dominant species from 17 h after fermentation commencement point to the fermentation end, while the other species were inhibited at a lower level from 17 h. The species diversity of bacteria in the initial fermentation samples was also high, and Enterobacter was the dominant species. Enterobacter cloacae, Pediococcus pentosaceus and Cronobacter sakazakii became dominant bacterial species 17 h after fermentation commencement, while the species diversity was decreased. Our results will be a scientific basis for promoting the fermentation process of Massa Medicata Fermentata by using pure microbial cultures.

ABSTRACT

Objective@#To understand the status and related factors of quality of life (QOL) among children aged 4-5 years old in rural areas of Anhui Province, and to provide a reference for improving the quality of life among children in rural areas.@*Methods@#A total of 4 457 preschool children aged 4-5 years old were selected from rural areas in five counties of Anhui Province by cluster sampling method. Parents of children were surveyed using the Pediatric Quality of Life Inventory Measurement Models 4.0.@*Results@#The total QOL score of children aged 4-5 years old in rural areas of Anhui Province was (79.44±12.51). The scores of emotional function, school performance and psychosocial summary were higher in left-behind children than that in non-left-behind children(t=2.99, 3.51, 3.22, P<0.05). Multivariate Logistic regression analysis showed that the older children (OR=0.82, 95%CI=0.71-0.95) and the bigger size of households (OR=0.85, 95%CI=0.73-0.98) were positively associated with quality of life of children, while the higher father’s educational level(OR=1.40, 95%CI=1.21-1.62), the lower father’s income, mothers doing housework or unemployment and children suffering from illness in the past two weeks (OR=1.76, 95%CI=1.50-2.06) were negatively associated with quality of life of children(P<0.05).@*Conclusion@#The quality of life of children aged 4-5 year old in rural areas of Anhui Province is relatively low. The children’s age, the father’s education level, the father’s annual income, the mother’s occupation, the size of households, and children suffering from illness in the past two weeks were the related factors that affectchildren’s quality of life.
