ABSTRACT

80% pathologically elevated hemorrheological values were found in patients who were treated because of tinnitus, vertigo and hypacusis during the examined nine-month-period, so the infusion- therapy was planned taking these pathological values into consideration. 50% of the pathological cases were treated with isovolemic hemodilution, 25% with SP 54 and the others with cristalloid solution which contained Cavinton and Trental. In 81% of patients who were rheologically normalized, the clinical complaints improved too. Rheological examinations are important before planning of tinnitus, vertigo and hypacusis treatment over and above the customary examinations and in given cases the pathologic parameters should be taken into consideration in directed treatment

ABSTRACT

Twenty-three patients suffering from malignant tumors were examined. Some micro- and macrorheological investigations [whole blood viscosity, yield shear stress, plasma viscosity, initial filtration rate, red cell transit time, clogging particles] were made. The whole blood viscosity was nearly normal in all patients. The yield shear stress was elevated in nine patients and the plasma viscosity was abnormal in thirteen patients. The results revealed the significant effect of own patients plasma on erythrocyte deformability. Seven patients had normal erythrocyte deformability in phosphate buffer and abnormal [significant elevated red cell transit time] in own plasma
