ABSTRACT

The majority of epidemiological data on skin tumors derives from studies carried out in a predominantly fair-skinned population. On the contrary, little is known of the epidemiological figures in our populations. This study has been conducted on 10.000 patients of those attending the outpatient clinic of Dermatology department, al-Minya University Hospital. The study included 4791 [47.9 percent] males and 5209 [52.1 percent] females. The age within this group ranged from 1 month to 85 years with a mean age and standard deviation [SD] of 48.8 +/- 3.63. A total number of 5848 [58.48 percent] skin tumors have been found among them. 5823 [58.23 percent] were benign, 3 [0.03 percent] were premalignant, and 22 [0.22 percent] were malignant
