Fifty patients were referred to the anesthetic assessment clinic to evaluate the benefit of these clinics. 36% of the patients approved its benefits and 60% thought they did not find it beneficial. However, these clinics certainly helped to spot patients with multisystem diseases and they would have been liable to have their surgery postponed if they were seen at the night or the operation.
