ABSTRACT

Objetivo: Determinar la actitud que adopta la enfermera durante la atención y el nivel de ansiedad del paciente en el preoperatorio, en un hospital público de Pisco marzo 2010. Material y métodos: Se realizó un estudio de tipo descriptivo y de corte transversal, la muestra está constituida por 30 pacientes, que fueron seleccionados a través del muestreo no probabilístico intencional, para establecer cuantitativamente el nivel de ansiedad se aplicó el test de ansiedad W. Zung. Resultados: En relación a la actitud que adopta la enfermera durante la atención al paciente es favorable en un 87% y medianamente favorable en un 13%. Referente al nivel de ansiedad; el 10% de los pacientes presenta ausencia de ansiedad, el 63% presenta ansiedad leve y el 27%, presenta ansiedad moderada. Conclusiones: La actitud que adopta la enfermera durante la atención al paciente es favorable, y la ansiedad leve está presente en los pacientes en el preoperatorio, por lo que se sugiere a las autoridades del hospital, desarrollar programas de educación permanente en salud en el campo del apoyo psicoemocional a los pacientes en el pre y post operatorio, dirigido al personal profesional de Enfermería con el fin de disminuir el nivel de ansiedad que presentan los pacientes previo a la intervención quirúrgica.


Objective: To determine the attitude that takes the nurse in the care and the patient anxiety level undergoing surgery in the Surgery Department of Hospital San Juan de Dios in Pisco, March 2010. Material and Methods: a descriptive and cross-sectional was conducted; sample consists of 30 patients, who were selected through the intentional non-probabilistic sampling to establish quantitatively the level of anxiety was applied to test anxiety SAS author William W. Zung. Results: In relation to the attitude adopted by the nurse during patient care is at 87% favorable, moderately favorable by 13%. Concerning the level of anxiety, 10% of patients have no anxiety, 63% have mild anxiety and 27%, features moderate anxiety. Conclusions: The attitude that takes the nurse to patient care is favorable and mild anxiety is present in patients before surgery, so it is suggested that the hospital authorities, develop continuing education programs in health field psycho-emotional support to patients in the pre and post operative for staff nurses with the aim of reducing the level of anxiety experienced by patients prior to surgery.
