Algo sobre arte y literatura / Something about Art and Literature

Este trabajo (i) tiene como propósito divulgar el producto terminado del primero de los tomos o secciones derivados del Proyecto “Cultura para la Enseñanza del Inglés como Lengua Extranjera”. Dicha Sección consta de dos capítulos; el primero, un Panorama General del Arte y la Literatura Universal, Latinoamericano y Cubano. El segundo, orientaciones metodológicas, ejercicios y tipos de proyectos de utilización de factores y personalidades artísticos y literarios en el proceso formativo idiomático de los estudiantes. Para llevar a cabo este trabajo se han utilizado el análisis de texto, estudio de bibliografía clásica y actual, búsqueda de datos en Internet y Enciclopedias. En el trabajo metodológico se ha tenido en cuenta el enfoque Comunicativo para orientaciones, ejercicios y proyectos. Se concluye que este material está listo para su publicación y que es herramienta importante en manos del profesor de Lengua Extranjera. Se impartió curso de postgrado sobre los contenidos de esta sección.

This work has a purpose to spread the finished product of the first of the volume or sections derived of the Project “Culture for Teaching of English as Foreign Language”. This Section consist of two chapters; the first one is a General Panorama of the Art and the Universal, Latin American and Cuban literature; and the second one are methodological orientations, exercises and types of projects of use of factors and artistic and literary personalities in the process of the language formation. To carry out this work the text analysis they have been used, study of classic and current bibliography, search of data in Internet and Encyclopaedias. In the methodological work it has been kept in mind the Talkative focus for orientations, exercises and projects. The authors conclude that this material is clever for its publication and that it is important tool in the professor's of Foreign Language hands. Post grade course was imparted about the contents of this section.

Promoción de salud: ¿desde las ciencias básicas? / Health Promotion: since basic sciences?

Como respuesta a la necesidad que tiene el médico de familia de enfatizar en su preparación sobre la realización de actividades de Promoción de Salud desde etapas tan tempranas como las Ciencias Básicas es que se concibe este trabajo. Se realiza esta investigación en el Instituto Superior de Ciencias Médicas de Camagüey con una muestra significativa de estudiantes y profesores de las Ciencias Básicas. Sus resultados evidencian que existen algunas dificultades en la incorporación de esta temática dentro de los contenidos de las asignaturas de esta área. Los alumnos han incorporado la importancia que tiene la Promoción de Salud, pero en muchos casos no han interiorizado ni el concepto ni las vías de llevarla a cabo. Producto de dichos resultados se realiza una propuesta para el tratamiento de aspectos de Promoción de Salud de utilidad para el futuro médico en su trabajo con la población; se toma en consideración el enfoque hacia la Promoción en las disciplinas tanto básicas como de formación general que conforman las Ciencias Básicas; esto posibilita que el futuro egresado de Medicina desarrolle un pensamiento de Promotor de Salud en la Comunidad que le permita con sus acciones contribuir a que su población adquiera capacidades de adaptarse o cambiar el medio y alcanzar un estado adecuado de bienestar físico, mental y social en lo individual, lo familiar y lo comunitario, lo que contribuirá a un mayor grado de satisfacción de la población y a que la calidad de vida y desarrollo del pueblo cubano sea superior.

This paper has been conceived as an answer to family doctors' needs. Preparing themselves properly since the erliest stages of their studies about the different activities concerning Health Promotion within the community is one of them, and it could be said a really important one; but, are they aware of the relevance of this feature?, do they receive actual information about this issue trough out the teaching-learning process of different subjects in their first and second years of their studies?. To find out answers has been the purpose for this study, which has been performed at the Medical University of Camagüey “Carlos J. Finlay”. A significant sample of professors and students of the Basic Area were involved in it. The results obtained are interesting: the students are aware of the importance of Health Promotion, nevertheless many of them do not know either the meaning or the ways to perform it. According to these results, the authors designed a proposal in order to include those important issues as an integrative aspect of the subjects studied since the first year. This should help the medical doctors- to- be in their work within the family and the community. It will also allow them to contribute to the physical, mental and social welfare of the population they work with as well as a better life quality for the individual, the family and the community.

Elementos de Trabajo Social para profesores de las Carreras Médicas: una experiencia interesante / Some social work resources for medical professors: an interesting experience

Con la intención de divulgar una experiencia positiva de un curso sobre cuestiones sociales integradas al trabajo del futuro profesional de la salud en el contexto comunitario se ha llevado a cabo este trabajo. Durante el curso 2001-2002 se imparte un diplomado de Educación Médica Superior, dirigido a cuadros y profesores con el objetivo de contribuir al logro de la excelencia del proceso formativo en las carreras de Ciencias Médicas, para que se revierta en la elevación de la calidad del egresado. En el mismo se incluyó un módulo “Lo Social en el Trabajo del Profesional de la Salud” con el propósito de preparar a los profesores para realizar una labor educativa más eficiente con los futuros profesionales de la salud en cuanto a los procesos de integración con la comunidad, familia, individuo y sociedad en general; en resumen, metodología y técnicas del trabajo social a desarrollar por los mismos en su entorno. Se incluye el programa del Módulo. Los resultados obtenidos fueron muy satisfactorios. Se aplicó al final del módulo una de las técnicas de De Bono, el llamado PNI (positivo, negativo e interesante), para conocer la satisfacción del grupo de cursistas; los resultados del mismo fueron altamente gratos. Se concluye que este tipo de curso más ampliado y profundo debe impartirse para los profesores. También se hace una propuesta de incluir un programa de Trabajo Social del Equipo de Salud en la Comunidad como curso electivo en las carreras de las Ciencias Médicas.

This work has been carried out w ith the objective of disclosing the positive experience of a course on social aspects in the community work of the future health professional. During the course 2001-2002 a Higher Medical Education postgraduate course was delivered to officials and professors with the objective of contributing to the achievement of excellence in the formative process in the careers of Medical Sciences, so that it is reverted in the elevation of the quality of the graduate. The module "The Social Aspect of Health Professionals' activity" was included with the purpose of preparing the professors to carry out a more efficient educational work with the futures health professionals as for the integration processes with the community, family, individual and society in general; in summary, social work methodologies and techniques that will be useful in their environment. The program of this Module is included. The results obtained were satisfactory. At the end of the module one of the techniques of De Bono, the so-called PNI (positive, negative and interesting), was applied to know the satisfaction of the course participants; being the results highly pleasing. It can be concluded that this type of course should be imparted to the professors in a deeper way. A proposal is also made of including a program of Health Team ' s Social Work in the Community as an elective course in the Medical Sciences careers.

Cultura en la enfermería comunitaria / Culture in the community nursing

Hacer patente la importancia de la Cultura en el desarrollo de la Enfermería Comunitaria es el propósito fundamental de este trabajo. Se analiza, en primer lugar, el concepto de Cultura en su más amplio significado y se adopta la definición de Kagán como la más abarcadora. El fenómeno social de la Enfermería se comprende como fenómeno cultural y se realiza un análisis multilateral del mismo, estudiando sus rasgos y propiedades que al integrarse en combinación dialéctica constituyen este fenómeno. Se estudian algunos de los elementos más importantes que forman parte de este sistema socio- cultural tales como son: • Conocimientos científicos específicos de la carrera • Conocimientos básicos de Sociología. • Capacitación para el enfoque social del trabajo de la Enfermería. • Valores: Humanismo, Creatividad, Lenguaje, Comunicación, Información, Memoria no heredada de la Humanidad. Se propone una definición de lo que podría denominarse "Cultura para el Trabajo Social de la Enfermería" y se concluye que la comprensión de la cultura de los demás y la expansión de la propia ayuda en gran medida a perfeccionar la atención de enfermería en la comunidad, con las familias y distintos grupos humanos.(i).

To reveal the importance of culture in the development of Community nursing is the fundamental purpose of this work. First, the concept of Culture in its widest meaning is analized and the definition of Kagán is adopted as the most comprehensive one. Nursing is understood as both, a social and cultural phenomenon and a multilateral analysis of it is carried out, studying the features and properties that constitute this phenomenon when being integrated in dialectical combination. Some of the most important elements that are part of this socio- cultural system are studied. Among them we could mention: Specific scientific knowledge of the career, Basic knowledge of Sociology, Training to achieve the social focus of Nursing; and Values: Humanism, Creativity, Language, Communication, Information ND Non inherited memory of the Humanity. A definition of what could be denominated "Culture for the Social Work of Nurses" is proposed and it is concluded that the understanding of others' culture and the expansion of one's own, helps to a great extent to achieve the perfection of nursing attention in the community towards families and different human groups.

Idioma y globalización: ¿Un nuevo término para un viejo fenómeno? / Language and Globalization: A New Term for an old phenomenon?

El proceso de globalización implica una comunicación necesaria para poderse llevar a cabo. Pudiera decirse que dicha comunicación se ha hecho posible en nuestros días a través del idioma inglés, pues es el idioma de los negocios, de los avances científico- técnicos y su literatura así como de muchos de los medios masivos de comunicación. Cabe preguntarse si este fenómeno de globalización es algo surgido en este momento histórico- concreto o es una tendencia que tiene antecedentes en el pasado. Es entonces el propósito de este trabajo analizar como a través del devenir histórico de la humanidad, ha existido una expansión de determinados idiomas relacionada con factores hegemónicos tanto económicos como políticos. Se lleva a cabo una reseña histórica que comprende desde el mundo griego hasta el siglo XX. Así mismo se ofrece un panorama del desarrollo de las teorías lingüísticas, filosóficas y pedagógicas en las distintas etapas de la historia. Se pone de manifiesto que desde época tan antigua como la civilización helénica hasta la actualidad se han desarrollado procesos de universalización del idioma de las potencias dominantes en algunas etapas de forma total y en otras parcial según el mundo conocido en esos períodos. Se concluye que la globalización del idioma no es un fenómeno actual sino histórico, que en las teorías lingüísticas y pedagógicas han incidido las dos posiciones filosóficas (materialismo e idealismo) presentes en todo el período histórico estudiado y se destaca la posición posmodernista del Enfoque Comunicativo en la enseñanza del inglés y su tendencia primer mundista.

The Globalization process implies a necessary communication to be posible to carry it out. It could be said that this communication has become possible in our days through the English languaje, because it is the language of the business of the technical-scientific advences and its literature, as well as of many of the massive means of communication. It is necessary to wonder if this globalization phenomenon is something originated in this concrete historical moment or it is a tendency that has antecedents in the past. Then the purpose of this work is to analize How in the course of the humanity has existed an expansion of certain languages related with political and economical factors of the world supremacy. It is carried out a historical review that compaises since the Greek world until the XX century. Besides it is offered a panorama of the development of the linguistic, philosophical and pedagogical theories in the different stages of the history. It is showed that since Hellenic civilization until the present time processes of universalization of the language of the dominant powers have been developed in some atages in a total way an in others, partially according to the well-known world in those periods. It is concluded that the globalization of the language is not a current phenomenon, but historical, that the two philosophical positions (materialism and idealism) have impacted in the linguistic and pedagogical theories present in all studied historiacal period and It is remarkable the postmodernist position of the communicative focus of the teaching English and its first world tendency.
