ABSTRACT

The most important reason in couples' marital conflict is their expectancy of their roles in the family. The couples get married by presumptions and different prejudices about emotional subjects and life activities which are the mental well-being. The purpose of this research is the study of mental well-being and marital life quality of couples. The method is cluster sampling in which 50 couples are selected from clinical and health centers of Sirjan. The research method is descriptive- correlation and all data were gathered by Golombok-Rust' marital quality, PANAS scale for positive and negative affect and Debz's life satisfaction questionnaire. All data were analyzed by correlation, regression and variance in SPSS. The results show that there is a positive relationship between marital quality and life satisfaction as a rate of 0.435 [p>0.001], marital quality and positive affect as a rate of 0.322 [p>0.05], life satisfaction and positive affect as a rate of 0.754 [p>0.001]. However, there is a negative relationship between positive effect and negative effect as a rate of 0.205 [p>0.05], and marital quality and negative affect 0.036 [p>0.05]. Since mental well-being increase can anticipate marital life quality; couples' mental well-being strength is a suitable method for marital satisfaction improvement and marital quality which should be studied

ABSTRACT

Many theorists have attempted to illustrate family functions. Bowen developed the theory of the family system. This theory is fundamentally based on the concept of differentiation of self. This study was intended to examine the relationship between self-differentiation and subjective well-being, mental health and marital quality in the framework of Bowen's theory. In this descriptive-correlation study, 560 subjects were chosen randomly from the clients of counseling centers and house of cultures [Farhang Sara] in Isfahan city. Our research tools were consisted of Differentiation of Self Inventory-2 [DSI-2], General Health Questionnaire [GHQ], Satisfaction with Life Scale [SWLS], Positive and Negative Affect Scales [PANAS] and Revised Dyadic Adjustment Scale [RDAS]. First, construct validity of questionnaires were examined by confirmatory factor Analysis [CFA]. Then, structural model for conceptualization of the relationship between differentiation of self and other factors is presented and fitted by reviewing of preceding studies within framework of Bowen's theory. Result revealed that proportion and sufficiency of model fitting indices is indicator of suitable internal validity. The results of study confirmed construct validity of questionnaires and relationships between self-differentiation and subjective well being, mental health and marital quality" Fitting Bowen's theory"

ABSTRACT

This study was aimed to investigate the relationship between depression and Pre Menstrual Syndrome [PMS] with Meta Cognitive beliefs in female university students. This was a correlation analytical study executed on the female students of psychology studying at psychology and education school of Isfahan University in 2007-2008. Thirty students were randomly selected. The instruments used for data collection included the Meta Cognition Questionnaire [MCQ] and the Beck Depression Inventory [BDI], as well as a researcher-made questionnaire for assessment of Pre Menstrual Syndrome [PMS]. Data was analyzed using the SPSS-13 software and the regression analysis method. A significant correlation was found between the mean scores of the negative Meta Cognitive beliefs subscale [referring to the beliefs of dangerousness and uncontrollability of worry] with the mean scores of PMS [p < 0.05]. Also, there were significant correlations between the mean total scores of all dysfunctional Meta Cognitive beliefs and the mean scores of depression during the menstrual period [p < 0.05]. Meta Cognition may play a role in development and perpetuation of PMS and depression in women

ABSTRACT

This study aimed to examine the efficacy of Meta Cognitive Behavioral Therapy [MCBT] on reducing self-punishment behaviors in patients with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder [PTSD]. In this clinical trial study, One hospital [Shahid Rajaie] was selected from the two psychiatric hospitals for war veterans in Isfahan through multi stage cluster sampling. Thirty subjects were then randomly selected from the war veterans with PTSD referred to this hospital and were randomly assigned to one experimental and one control group. Thought Control Questionnaire [TCQ] was then administerd to both groups as pretest. Afterward the experimental group received Meta-Cognitive Behavioral Therapy [MCBT] in 8 weekly sessions as well as drug therapy while the control group received only drug therapy. Post-tests were then administered to both groups once immediately afterward and then 2 months later
